WINTER SEASON MYTHS #FIRSTAID Heat loss from the head. #SAFETYFIRST > In the years after World War II, the U.S. Army Field Manual claimed that 40 to 45 percent of body heat is lost through the head, and the story has been passed down from worried moms ever since. But in 2006, skeptical scientists tested people in cold water (with and without wetsuits), and found that the head accounts for about 7 percent of the body's surface area, and the heat loss is fairly proportional to the amount of skin that's showing.

Research suggests that drinking an occasional glass of red wine is good for you. It provides antioxidants, may promote longevity, and can help protect against heart disease and harmful inflammation. We hope to see you again, friends! #Cheers
