These are great strengthening exercises for arthritic hands.
Come join us on Zoom for the beautiful Chair yoga class or the gentle multi-level flows class. There is something for everyone, no matter what your fitness level is.
The Spring session of Heart’s Home Yoga is starting on March 17/18.
A friend gave me this reading from Steve Bell's book entitled Lenten Spring. It is a beautiful reflection that we may apply during Lent and always. "Fast from judging others; Feast on the reality of Light. Fast from Pessimism; Feast on optimism. Fast from thoughts of illness; Feast on the healing power of God.... Fast from words that pollute; Feast on phrases that purify. Fast from anger; Feast on patience. Fast from worry; Feast on unceasing prayer. Fast from complaining; Feast on appreciation Fast from hostility; Feast on non-resistance. Fast from bitterness; Feast on forgiveness. Fast from anxiety; Feast on hope. Fast from yourself; Feast on a silent heart." See more

O holy night, the stars are brightly shining, It is the night of the dear Saviour’s birth; Long lay the world in sin and error pining, 'Till he appeared and the soul felt its worth. A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,... For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn; Chorus Fall on your knees, Oh hear the angel voices! O night divine! O night when Christ was born. O night, O holy night, O night divine. Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming; With glowing hearts by his cradle we stand: So, led by light of a star sweetly gleaming, Here come the wise men from Orient land, The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger, In all our trials born to be our friend; Chorus He knows our need, To our weakness no stranger! Behold your King! Before Him lowly bend! Behold your King! your King! before him bend! Truly He taught us to love one another; His law is Love and His gospel is Peace; Chains shall he break, for the slave is our brother, And in his name all oppression shall cease, Sweet hymns of joy in grateful Chorus raise we; Let all within us praise his Holy name! Chorus Christ is the Lord, then ever! ever praise we! His pow'r and glory, evermore proclaim! His pow'r and glory, evermore proclaim!
Third week of Advent - Joy This week I invite you to take some time to tune in to how God made you and what makes your heart joyful. Be intentional and feed all the senses while you celebrate. Will you turn up the volume on a worship song or Christmas carol and dance and sing along, laugh at a holiday movie or TV special or while you play a game with children or a loved one. Will you create art, make a handmade gift, bake cookies or cook up a feast, take a leisurely drive to see the Christmas lights, or simply stay at home and gaze at your own? Make your own list and practice the disciplines of joy and celebration.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving everyone. I am sharing the words of this old hymn which has been a part of my church life for many decades. There is so much truth in these words of worship. 1. O worship the King, all glorious above, And gratefully sing, His wondrous love; Our shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days, pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise. 2. O tell of His might, and sing of His grace, Whose robe is the light, Whose canopy space; His chariots of wrath ...the deep thunderclouds form, And dark is His path on the wings of the storm. 3. Thy bountiful care what tongue can recite? It breathes in the air, it shines in the light; It streams from the hills, it descends to the plain, And sweetly distills in the dew and the rain. 4. Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail, In Thee do we trust, nor find thee to fail. Thy mercies how tender! How firm to the end! Our Maker, Defender, Redeemer and friend. See more
