About a year ago when we closed our restaurants we had a chance to catch up with @blueroomchef at his restaurant. In the courtyard @theblueroombistro they have a Japanese Maple tree, we have one in our garden at Heartwood as well. Dustin told me he called it the money tree. As he told me the trees leaves emerge along with our tourists the start of our busy season. Its this time of year we wind up and prepare to welcome old and new friends to the west coast and our home.... But again we ask you not to travel, not yet. Restaurants are feeling these impacts greatly. Our team of servers and cooks are not working and its hard. We have been closed since indoor dining was restricted and are just now going to open on weekends for brunch only until we see that it is safe to open more. Today the sun is shining and our outdoor garden patio is open and we welcome you to enjoy the gardens from our sheltered patio, stoop or grab some take out. I think the next time our money tree blooms we be back on track!

Thanks to timing of our indoor dining closure and receiving the BC Buisness Recovery Grant we get to paint the exterior of @heartwood_kitchen! What colour do you think we should paint the restaurant?

Last weekend before Christmas, dine in or dine out thanks for the support this year! Saturday and Sunday Breakfast features: Tourtière & eggs all weekend, spiced ketchup, fresh fruit and smash browns... Our bottled hot sauce great for stocking stuffers Heartwood Tourtière $5 each or 6 individual pies for $25 Gift certificates, and we are helping move a pile of Girl Guide Cookies $5 a box 8:30am-1pm for breakfast 5pm-8pm for dinner Of course these are last years photos with Santa. We would never risk his safety (or ours) Mask up and come on down!

Heartwood Holiday Headquarters We have a few events to share, Christmas Turkey to go on December 24th, and pick up between 2pm and 4pm. Book before December 23rd. This meal will be complete and packaged in servings for two with simple reheating instructions. New years eve, reservations required and we have some space left. One seating at 7pm.... New Years Day Chinese food pick up. Okay, truthfully we weren't going to do it but this is really the only tradition our little restaurant has and we know that we can do this safely this year (Not that it was less safe before!) We are really happy with our off season patio project. Thank you to local companies Grip Fast Construction for the beautiful work and Dave for the new decking. Our garden patio is open on stunning winter days just like this for dine in!
