. LOOKING FOR MONTHLY DONORS As we are getting ready for the winter months, we have seen that we have lost some of our monthly donors. We totally understand because of COVID, people may not be in a position to help anymore and we genuinely appreciate all the help they have given . However, this does put us in a bit of a pickle because we rely on the monthly donors through the winter to cover our utilities and keep the lights on. How can you help wildlife survive the Winter Wild animals need a source of water in the winter, especially if there isn’t any snow. A heated water bowl kept away from the house is a great option to help wildlife stay hydrated. Use an outdoor extension cord and place the bowl in a covered/bush/tree area and refill it as needed.

Heaven's Wildlife Rescue Rehabilitation & Education Centre (HWR)is a volunteer-based organization that rehabilitates sick, injured and orphaned wildlife with th...e goal of returning them back to the wild. Over the last few years, HWR has been able to release 85% of its rescues. HWR is not funded by any government services and relies on donations and fundraising events to keep the centre running. We want to extend our most sincere gratitude to those of you who are sending us financial support. We wish we could thank each of you with an email reply, but we are barely keeping up with feedings. Please know that your help is what’s keeping us going and motivating us to take on more and more wild babies . Believe it or not...a shower is considered a luxury item for us at the moment, sad but true. ... We have had people ask us what they can do to help when they find an injured animal on the road? First step: be prepared!! You will need to keep these items in your trunk: ... 1. A Rubbermaid / Sterilite Bin 2. A thick / heavy blanket 3. A pair of welding gloves Second Step: SAFETY FIRST!! Only help if it is safe to do so. Do not put yourself at risk! Today Phoenix crossed the rainbow bridge His Mom Callie Sayers wanted to honour him in a positive way. She made a donation in his name to the rescue so that his memory can help other animals in need. What a wonderful way to celebrate his life, he was clearly very well loved ... Thank you so much Callie for your donation we are very grateful and hope that your heart heals in time.

What do you do when you find an opossum in your garbage can?? Believe it or not....this is a regular occurrence as opossums are attracted to garbage cans by the smell of food stored inside! They are scavengers and actually enjoy rotted items. If the opossum has something stuck on its head like a bubble lid from a slushie/iced cap, or seems in distress (like middle of summer and has spent a week in the can) please contact us. ... Otherwise to help this marsupial, all you need to do is gently tip the can on its side and the opossum will return to his or her den/wandering once he/she feels safe doing so. Walk away from the area and give it some time for it to leave. Best way to keep them out of your cans is to keep a lid on the trash can. Opossums are nature’s cleanup crew, they eat mice, rats, cockroaches, slugs, snails, snakes and they eat as many as 4,000 ticks in a single week . They really are a benefit to have in your yard

During COVID it has been incredibly difficult for us to do any type of fundraising. We are so grateful to those that have come up with unique and amazing ideas this year to help raise the funds we need. This is another example in action! OH MY GOODNESS Can you believe this? We couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw what these two awesome little girls did for their birthday’s again this year! Arbor and Lakyn spent 2 weeks collecting all of these amazing items and $605.00 in place of birthday gifts to help our wildlife patients at the rescue . ... OH MY GOSH We all know the food and French fries at Albert’s is legendary, but did you know they also have a HUGE heart for supporting our community? How amazing is this?? Our good friends at Albert’s did an amazing fundraiser this summer selling their original T-shirts and raised $1,600.00 for the rescue ...
