Climbing requires equanimity. When things get challenging, scary, and potentially even dangerous, the successful climber is able to observe and moderate their emotions. What about in daily life? Do we have the capacity to observe life circumstance and notice how we respond internally? It’s this noticing, the awareness, that moves us beyond reactivity and into an intentional response.... On our Conscious Climbing trips we practice Meditation and Authentic Relating, two wonderful tools to develop awareness and intentionality to help us shape our life into one of fulfillment. This is my favorite picture from last year. It was also my favorite tour that we hosted. The reason being that we discussed how the lessons learnt in climbing can be applied to everyday life. I used to be so immersed in climbing that I forgot growth also existed off of the mountain. This year I’ve created ... CONSCIOUS CLIMBING TRIPS in addition to our Classic Climbing trips. Our CONSCIOUS Climbing Trips are designed to promote personal growth. We use climbing as a primer to enter a state of connection and openness. On the rock we intentionally enter a zone of discomfort to see how we can respond, adapt, learn and integrate. With intentionally chosen exercises, we apply this same formula to our experience outside of climbing. What do you truly want from life but are afraid to pursue? The discussions, exercises and tools we offer during our Conscious Climbing trips are designed to help people examine their own self-limiting beliefs, behaviors, and conditioning. We provide a safe space to practice radical authenticity; a space where people can show up in their true expression of themselves, free of judgement and shame. In this safe container we cultivate connection to ourselves, connection to others, and connection to nature. We gently lean into the edge of discomfort; everything we ever wanted lies on the other side of fear, including who we truly are. Packages Include: . Meditation a wonderful tool for cultivating awareness and observing our own thoughts and behaviors . Authentic Relating a practice that allows us to communicate from a more heart centered space . Circling Exercises an opportunity to express openly and vulnerably . Breathwork a process to awaken energy centers and releasing stuck emotions Dates: Best of BC: June 21 June 28 Rockies Rock: August 23 30 Email [email protected] to inquire about a life changing experience! Nature is where we find ourselves. The noise of daily life, the noise of our minds, all fade away. We’re able to be present with our emotions and find out which ones are serving us, and which ones are illusions. On our climbing tours, I share my favorite places with people, so that they can see what they can discover, and what they can let go of.

Miguel and Kelynn are gym climbers from St. Catherines, ON, who were looking to acquire the knowledge to climb outdoors. What better place to learn than The Rockies! Over two days they learnt to lead climb and were introduced to all the theory of basic cragging systems. There is no substitute for practice and experience, but now they are equipped with the knowledge of what it takes to climb safely outdoors. Where are your climbing skills at? Are you intimidated by outd...oor climbing? You can do it. We can teach you. See more

I’m guessing that there’s upwards of 100 climbing routes in this photo, with Yamnuska on the far right hosting the majority. Every time I climb a new feature or zone in the Rockies, I get a little more intimate with the mountains, creating this mental map of all their curves, edges, gullies and cliffs. Each climbing experience also allows me to make a similar mental map of my own psyche; observing how I respond to challenges, fear and doubt, watching the progression and growth. I’ve climbed about 8 routes within the frame, with different partners and very different versions of myself. What will climbing teach you about yourself?
