Why can HIIT be critical to your weight loss or fitness journey? With HIIT it's possible to burn just as many if not more calories than your standard 60 minute cardio session and in a much shorter amount of time. This allows you to get the most bang for your buck in regards to your workouts and makes it easy to fit into your busy schedule. I won't get into the exact science behind it but it works similar to this:... These are not actual numbers but it will help you get a better understanding of how HIIT can play to your advantage. Let's say that a slower steady state cardio workout burns about 2 calories every minute and a high intensity sprint burns 12 calories a minute. One hour of the steady state cardio would give you 120 calories burned while the sprinting would allow you to burn that 120 calories in just 10 minutes. On top of the higher energy expenditure with HIIT also provides a metabolic boost that gets your body burning more calories even after the workout is complete. It's like turning your body into a wood burning oven that's just melting away extra calories all day long. Now who wouldn't want that? Stay tuned and follow for more great advice that you can immediately start applying to your fitness routine. See more

If you're struggling to get the results you want, and need some extra motivation over the holidays I have a workout that will definitely give you that and more! Best of all, you barely need any equipment, just a pair of dumbbells. I call this one the 3x3x3. There's 3 stations each with 3 exercises and you'll go through each station 3 times before moving on to the next one. Each exercise will be 30 seconds with 10-15 seconds rest inbetween each exercise and 1 minute rest b...etween stations. Here are the stations: Station A - Toe Taps, Bent Over Row, Pushups Station B - Curtsy Curl, Leg Scissors, Lateral to Front Shoulder Raise Station C - 2 Pulse Chest Press(2 short pulses at the bottom and then one full press), Mountain Climbers, Step Back Lunges(with weights) If you're still a beginner to working out try doing each station twice to start and then slowly build up to doing the full 3 sets. Let me know if you enjoyed this one. And I challenge you to come try the class if you want more! E-mail [email protected] for more info See more
