A homecare career means a work schedule to fit your lifestyle and the opportunity to spend time with seniors. Details:
The holiday season is quickly approaching, and we have some very exciting news to share! The Home Instead Markham team is proud to announce our participation in Home Instead Senior Care's 17th annual Be a Santa to a Senior program. The goal of this longstanding program is to bring holiday cheer by delivering gifts to lonely or low-income seniors who might otherwise go without any gifts or visitors during the holiday season. Since it’s inception in 2003, Be a Santa to a Senior... has provided approximately 2.1 million gifts and brightened the season for more than 750,000 deserving seniors. Unfortunately, the 2020 holiday season is going to look quite different during the COVID-19 pandemic and seniors especially are at risk of significant challenges associated with isolation. Our hope is that this simple gesture of providing a gift can show the senior that they are being thought of, which is more important this year than ever. Who will the gifts be going to? Home Instead Markham will provide gifts to all the residents at Markhaven Home for Seniors, one of many long-term care facilities across Ontario that has felt the impact of COVID-19 firsthand. How will the gifts be donated and delivered? Home Instead is teaming up with Amazon Business to create a contactless gift-giving experience for volunteers and recipients. The new Amazon Business collaboration will provide the same holiday cheer to local seniors while also prioritizing the safety and wellness of all who are involved. How can you get involved? It’s easy to help! Members of the community can visit www.BeASantatoaSenior.com and enter their postal code or city to view Wish Lists for local seniors on Amazon. A personalized greeting can be included with the gift which will be shipped to Home Instead where it will be wrapped and safely delivered to the senior. If you are unable to donate, simply liking and sharing this post to spread the word would also be a big help! For more information on the program, call our franchise office directly at 905-604-4224 or email [email protected]
