Teaching Night Thursday November 5th @ C3 Church, 7pm "God has placed a deep desire for intimacy within our hearts. We long to be known and loved and valued. As we search to satisfy our hunger for intimacy we look primarily to human relationships however the deepest, most fulfilling experience of intimacy can be found only in our relationship with God.... The invitation of prayer is not only about praying to see things change, but about an invitation to a profound journey of intimate friendship and communion with God. Nothing touches us at such a deep and profound level as genuine intimacy with Jesus who loves us and desires us. The invitation is to continue our journey towards greater intimate friendship with God."

Day 5 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. 18 Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit. - James 5:17-18 Elijah is one that the New Testament points out as having incredible significants in regards to the first and second coming of Christ. He was one who preformed signs and wonders likened to no one in all scripture, even Ch...rist Himself; calling fire down from heaven, raising the dead, and shutting the sky that no rain may fall and many more. Yet the profound thing here is that James is emphasizing His prayer life, something we know very little about from the accounts of his life. James accredited all of Elijah’s miracles to His prayer life, and of course the implication by saying that he was a man with a nature like ours is that through prayer we have access to the same power that Elijah had. This opens up a whole world of possibilities for what we can accomplish through prayer. But let’s take a closer look at how Elijah prayed when he shut and reopened the heavens form 1 Kings 17-18. When he shouts the heavens there seems to be no prayer but only a declaration but when it comes to reopening the heavens we see something very significant, according to 1 Kings 18:36-46, he did not pray once or twice but a total of seven times! Beloved, if we are wanting to see the power of God break out in our lives then we must take the same path of Elijah who was stubborn in prayer, and would not give us until he saw the breakthrough, praying not a signal time but seven times!

Day 4 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. - Luke 10:39 In Luke 10:38-42 we read of the famous story of the two sisters Mary and Martha, where Martha was distracted with doing many things around the house, while Mary just sat at Christ’s feet. After sometime it seems that she became annoyed with her sister and came to the Lord saying Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help ...me. and His response was Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her. The irony of the story is that Martha was distracted with many things pertaining to hosting Jesus’ presence while Mary simply enjoyed His presence. You because Martha was doing so many good things she was so distracted that she completely missed out on the one thing necessary and that is finding delight in Christ. He says that this act of being at His feet is the one necessary thing or the one need thing, notice here that there is not two or three need things but one singular thing, thus let us make this one thing our main focus and pursuit today. I encourage you to carve out time today to do that one thing that God has designed you to do to sit at His feet and seek to enjoy Him solely for who He is. I pray for everyone reading this today, that you would deliver us from the distractions of our life and we’d give our complete attention to your Son.
