We now have a completely different vocabulary. "Contact tracing, presumptive case, flatten the curve"... all of these can bring an uncertainty that is uncomfortable for us. BUT we all have the power to use words that build each other up. We can choose to speak the truth. At home we can smile, give hugs, and bring peace to our families. We can use snuggly, comfy words around our kids. We can text those around us. A simple, "I'm thinking of you" goes a long way. If you identif...y as one that struggles with anxiety, depression or OCD, we know that this is especially hard for you. Know that you are not alone. If you are struggling, be brave today and reach out to a trusted friend, mentor or pastor. If you know someone who is struggling, be there for them. A simple text of encouragement may just completely make their day. Remember that our hope is in Jesus. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is in this with us. We are not alone. www.horizon.edu/2020/11/25/covid-speak/

Ever look around and feel like things are out of control or just aren't making any sense? Perhaps it's because we can only see like a 'Flatlander'. But God can see, know, and understand things that you and I CAN'T. And He is in control. We can hold onto that.... Read more: www.horizon.edu/2020/11/18/flatland
INTRODUCING: Grace Ford First year Bachelors in Pastoral Leadership student. Goal? - To become a counsellor or art therapist. ... Fun Fact? - I love to do creative things with other people, so if there’s a craft you want to try and you don’t know who to try it with, hit me up! Favourite Class to date? - My favourite class that I’ve taken so far has been Intro to Old Testament because I learned so much about the depth of God’s character, and how He’s been consistently good throughout history.
"I am being transformed in thought and heart through the M.A. Leadership Degree I am taking at Horizon. Through the study of relevant and helpful course material and exceptional teaching, I am being challenged, equipped and inspired to move towards my calling with new confidence." - Kaitlyn Cey, Saskatoon www.horizon.edu/program/ma-ministry-leadership
I came into my first year at Horizon right out of a season of pain. I came thinking that I could not trust anyone because of the past. That mindset changed very quickly as I proceeded in Horizon. As the years proceeded, God started bringing amazing friends or family that he would use to break off this callous that was growing around my heart. God started to break off my trust issues, pride, and insecurities I had struggled with. This heart of mine was once calloused and hard, but God used the community around me to turn it soft once again. ~ Caleb, Current Student

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. Isaiah 60:1 This is the verse our students will be reflecting on this year. Our world is currently filled with a lot of pain and hardships. Therefore, God has called us to be lights in the darkness. Your light has come. Be that light.
