Got The Ladies out for a spin yesterday. It was a warm day for them as they are still blowing their winter coats. The nice thing about synthetic harness is that I could hose them off before unharnessing! Neither Heather or I were excited to take sweaty harness off. :) Everyday is a good day! :)

Won't be long now. The grass is greening up quickly! The horses stand at the fence and gaze longingly at the pasture fields. Soon group, soon. <3 Everyday is a good day! :)

Unfortunately the weather man is right today. We have made the decision to postpone today's activities until tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

I did a thing yesterday! I have teams that need their shoes reset, work to do in the shop etc, but decided to take Milley out for a ride. <3 It's been a few years since I have actually ridden and Milley hasn't been ridden since last spring. We both enjoyed it! <3 Thanks to Norm and Wilson for joining us. And, thanks to Carol for letting me give her Aussie saddle a home! I let the stirrups out a hole, but may have to do another hole yet - my knees aren't as good as they used to be! :) If the winter is going to stay mild, I just may get out more. We are still hoping that Christmas on the Farm is a go today. Hopefully the weatherman is wrong. I will post updates if needed. Since we move in to the Red on Monday, my team and I will brainstorm over the weekend and I will speak with the Health Unit to see how we can make next weekend work. We may have to switch to booking time slots but I will keep you posted. Thank you for your continued support of this amazing venture. <3 We are all having a lot of fun!

Two days in a row! It sure feels good! <3 Yesterday morning I texted Heather and told her that we were going riding in the afternoon! Heather, with her own farm and a 4 year old daughter, doesn't get out riding often either. Bronwyn was at Grandma's for the afternoon, so.... Kia on Star, Matt on Island and Milley and I rode over to Heather's to meet up with her and Liz. We had a great ride around Heather's fields and bush trail. Heather's little Arab mare and even Liz's Clyde... cross horse, weren't sure of two giants ( Milley and Star ) joining them. Thanks for the laugh ladies! :) We are going to try and make it a Wednesday afternoon date as long as the weather cooperates. Thank you to everyone for an amazing first day! Our first review has come in. ' We visited this Festive Christmas farm today. Check in was a breeze and very friendly at the entrance, sanitization stations through out the farm. Enjoyed a lovely horse carriage with Millie and Star and friendly driver Richard. Thanks for the lovely ride. My lo enjoyed the pony ride with Willie and instructor Kia, she had a blast. Thank you! We met Santa, for a family photo with a beautiful backg...round. We enjoyed our time here today. Well done, Cristine, will be back for sure! Thank you! Merry Christmas ' Richard and I finished the day with The Boys doing a private ride from the farm, then into Gravenhurst to do a carriage ride for a couple that got married yesterday. <3 Looking forward to seeing everyone today at Christmas on the Farm. Another great day of rides yesterday. The East wind was a little nasty but nice temperatures. Thank you to everyone for your business! I am allowed to offer private family rides during lockdown! Great news! I am limited to 10 guests per ride but at least we get to work. <3 Heather, Kia and The Ladies started the day yesterday with a carriage ride while I dealt with farm stuff. Thanks Ladies! Then The Boys, Heather and I went to Bayview. The guests are trying to get out as much as they can before lockdown. The Boys had a couple of hours off before we did a private ride from the farm. Another fairly busy day ahead. Back to Bayview then a couple of private rides from the farm. :)

Spent a wonderful afternoon with The Boys although I'm not sure if Rascal thought that he could hide behind a tree when Kia and Matt went out to get him. :) There were quite a few families at Bayview that enjoyed a ride. We came home to do a private ride. I love when our guests come bearing gifts, a bag of carrots for The Boys and homemade banana bread for me. <3 Thanks Nan! Thanks to Kia for her help! I wasn't able to get through to the Health Unit today but after reading the news release, I think that I will be good to go for private family rides. I will confirm with Health Unit but fingers crossed. The Boys and I are back at Bayview this afternoon with a couple of private family rides after. <3

The Boys started our day at Bayview. The guests are so appreciative of us being there. The Ladies finished the day with a couple of private rides from the farm. It's so nice having enough teams that The Boys get a break every now and then. It looks like my guardian angel made an appearance on the first private ride. <3 Many people are messaging me about booked rides with the news that we are going in to lockdown Christmas Eve. At this point, I am not sure. I will call the He...alth Unit today. Ski hills, etc are allowed to stay open so I am hoping that I am able to as well. Wagon rides are a unique business and they don't always know what category I fall in to. Since it's an outdoor activity and restricted to families, I am hoping that I can continue. Fingers crossed. Many thanks to Leanne and Andrew for doing morning chores and the new cat bed / house and treats for the barn cats, Heather for her help with the rides and Kia and Matt for doing night chores again. :) We are back at Bayview again this afternoon with a couple of private rides as well. :)

A busy day of rides yesterday. We started out with a couple of private rides from the farm, then in to Gravenhurst for a private ride, home long enough to drop the wagon and get dry gloves, then finished the day at Bayview. The day started off nice, then the snow moved in. On the way home from Gravenhurst, we saw 3 accidents. I was questioning why we were on the road. The roads were slick but we made it without any trouble. Many thanks to Leanne for her help with the first ride, Richard for his help with the others and hauling the wagon and to Kia and Matt for doing evening chores. It takes a village. <3 Another busy day ahead. :)

Just a reminder that Christmas on the Farm is cancelled this weekend due to the new Red Covid restrictions for our area. I spoke with the Health Unit yesterday. I am still able to offer private rides! Great news! My Mom called me last night to say that someone had sent a photo from the Christmas on the Farm in to the Barrie news for their Picture This, Photos with Santa. Awesome! Thank you to whoever did! We are very proud of the photo booth! Thanks again to Seasonal Accents for putting the finishing touches on it! The barn cat ( that photobombed almost every picture with Santa ) is going to m...iss everyone! She was following me around yesterday looking lost. <3 Thank you again! <3

My team ( not everyone is present ) and I want to thank each and everyone of you for your support in this new venture. <3 It's been amazing. We had so much fun! Yesterday was another amazing day for Christmas on the Farm. Thank you to everyone for making it a success. <3 I abandoned my gang so The Boys and I could take Santa and Mrs. Claus around the town of Cookstown. Like every other town, they couldn't have a Santa Claus parade so they came up with the idea of taking Santa around town - I think we saw every house in Cookstown!. We had a great time! Everyone was so appreciative. I can't tell you how many people yelled ' Thank you for doing this '. The Boys and I did a surprise carriage ride last evening. The gentleman surprised his lady friend with a carriage ride for her birthday. <3 The lady friend had seen us in Bracebridge when we did the 90th birthday carriage ride and had loved watching us go by. We all made her birthday special. Thanks to Heather for her help. :)
