The penance and pursuit of ones noble character metaphorically resembles the burning flames of the pure sacrificial fire. Offering ones own unworthy and harmful... attributes into these fires is - "Yagna". The sacred Bhagwa Dhwaj (Saffron Flag) passed over by our ancestors, generation after generation, truly is a reflection of those "sacrificial flames". It reminds us of all those Rishis, Sanyasins, Heroes and noble souls who through their penance, sacrifice, knowledge and wisdom have shown the path for the humanity. It guides us in the path of Dharma. This fluttering Bhagwa Dhwaj inspires us Hindus to pursue our eternal penance of self-exploration, self-purification and self-transcendence. Like the saffron Sun of the dawn - breaking through the darkness, so does the Bhagwa Dhwaj tears through our ignorance. The Bhagwa Dhwaj is our GURU. See more
