Hubbards Family Dental Clinic would like to update all our patients on the present dental situation and our soon to be re-opening. Recently the Government of Nova Scotia released a statement which permits dental offices to re-open on June 5th for emergency care only. However, our ability to re-open will depend on the ability to obtain personal protective equipment (PPE) and train our staff on the new regulations and protocols from the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia. ...Dentists in Nova Scotia were restricted from ordering these types of necessary supplies until now to protect the supply chain across the country and prevent possible hoarding of PPE. Due to the present difficulty of obtaining protective equipment from various suppliers, it may mean that our opening does not coincide with the June 5th date as announced by the province. It will also take time to implement these new protocols to ensure we are further increasing the security and welfare of our patients at Hubbards Family Dental. We will continue to certify all protocols are in place and supplies secured as quickly as possible. Once this is done, our receptionist will begin calling those patients who have previously contacted us, as well as schedule any other patients with urgent dental needs.

TO ALL OF OUR PATIENTS: Due to the recent confirmation of community transmission of the COVID-19 virus, the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia, in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer of Health for Nova Scotia (Dr. Robert Strang), has directed that ALL dental procedures, including emergency dental care, cease as of March 31, 2020 at dental clinics in Nova Scotia. The updated protocol requires that emergency dental treatment can only be provided at designated emergen...cy dental clinics across the province. This means that after March 31, 2020, designated emergency dental clinics will include the clinic at the Dalhousie Faculty of Dentistry, the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic at the Victoria General Hospital, and the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the IWK Health Centre. If you feel you have a dental emergency and are a patient of Hubbards Family Dental Clinic, please call Dr. DeViller at (902) 857-1755. He will triage your need and if necessary, refer you to a designated emergency dental clinic. Update March 17 2020 In accordance with current recommendations from the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia to prevent the transmission and spread of COVID-19 that were sent, the office is currently CLOSED for all scheduled appointments. We will be in contact in the coming days to reschedule. We ask that you not try to make/change appointments through our Facebook. We will keep everyone updated on when we will be opening as soon as we find out. We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and will work to rebook appointments as necessary. Health and safety of our patients and staff is very important to Hubbards Family Dental Clinic. For the welfare of all, the Canadian government is asking anyone who has travelled outside the country to self quarantine for a minimum of 14 days. If you have travelled outside the country, and had previously scheduled an appointment with us that would take place during this time frame, we ask that you contact us to cancel. If you are sick for any reason, or have been in close contact to people who have been sick, we also ask you to cancel your appointment. In the event you have a dental emergency, please seek treatment at your local hospital. This will best serve you and help to protect the health and safety of all members of our community.
