This article shows a really well-rounded look at what we can watch for in changes to our interior decor. What have you already incorporated into your space? What would you like to? We're not sure about the last one....how about you? Are you for it or not?
Some really good pointers about what is dated in your kitchen and less expensive ways to update.
We are expanding our showroom space in Ponoka in conjunction with GypsyFringe Boutique. Please join us for our renovation celebration!
Wow! The Benjamin Moore colour of the year for 2017 is such a radical departure from last year's "white" colour of the year. A little bit surprised, but already thinking of ways to embrace this greyed down deep purple. Scroll through the article to see other colours for 2017, and ways they have used them.
WOW! All I can say is WOW! Look at all this unique and great art created with talent, paint and stencils. How inspiring.
Good guidelines on where your tv should be mounted, and how far away for optimal viewing is recommended. So many don't think about this, especially with the whole "mount your TV above the fireplace" design concept.
At Hue 'n Eye Interiors, we love shopping at Robinson Lighting and Bath. Kichler is one of our favourite lighting brands too. With the trend towards creating awesome outdoor spaces, you may want to check out this article.
Feiss introduces their new lighting collection....which one's your favourite. We love some of the updated takes on the traditional....as well as some of the statement coastal feel pieces.
Before and after....grandma's antique chair is finished by one of our students with American Paint Company Fireworks Red and Black Glaze. Finished off with topcoat. We think Ramona did a great job, and we all had fun!
At Hue 'n Eye Interior Design we love all the possibilities that stencilling offers. Sometimes the word "stencil" brings a shudder and flashback to the 90's....leave that image alone and check out what is possible! We are thinking of teaching some specialty stencil classes...would you come if we offered them? Such a lovely way to dress up furniture, or create your own masterpiece wall!
So excited! We are holding our very first "Bring Your Own Project" American Paint Company Chalk Painting class in Wetaskiwin on Saturday, May 7. If you have som...e chalk painting experience, there is still time to sign up...we have students painting chairs, windows, antique cabinets, jewellery cabinets, etc. Can't wait to see what comes out of this class. Paint and finishes supplied for a moderate size project...$109. See more
Five happy students from our American Paint Company chalk paint class "getting that aged look". Didn't their trays turn out gorgeous!
Love the dark grey accents and dark wood (not to mention the chandelier) that are offsetting the subtly beautiful Benjamin Moore Pashmina.

Our students had a great time in our "Royal Metallics APC Chalk Painting Class" where we took a plain Ikea plastic mirror and turned it into a work of art. Let us know if you are interested in this class...we would love to have another soon.
I have a secret fantasy...(I've either grabbed your attention, or scared you off). It involves knocking on doors of complete strangers, and suggesting colours for their front doors. And I would love to see some of the condo communities with rows of units have a palette of colours to select their front door colour from....no more white doors! (Or maybe just a few). What a fun, inexpensive way to change the face of a neighbourhood.
Some photos of projects completed in our APC chalk paint and decoupage class, held in conjunction with the GypsyFringe Boutique and the Wetaskiwin Art & Craft Centre. It was a small class, but we had a lot of fun! Our next class is Tuesday, April 19..."Getting That Aged Look" (some of our customers think I should change the name of this class!). We cover using APC chalk paint, glazing, tinting waxes and glazes...you would take home a number of projects, including a beautiful wooden tray. Let us know if you are interested. Fee: $65
