This was my last Sunday leading worship at HUC. I will be on holiday for the next 5 weeks and then have answered a call to serve Streetsville United in Mississauga beginning Sept. 1. It has been great to be with you on this journey whether we knew each other in person or only virtually. If you are ever in Mississauga drop by and say hello, or find me at my new location online. Be safe, be brave, and remember, nothing can separate us from the love of God. - Rev. Jessica McCrae

There are probably lots of feelings swirling around going back to school - whether you're kids are physically going to class or whether they're staying home to ...do school virtually. #Zoom fatigue is real. #Anxiety over possibly getting sick is real. #Excitement about staying in your jammies all day is real. #Excitement about seeing your friends is real. But whatever yours and your children's feelings - they're all okay and valid. We'll get through this together! #ig_kids #school #covid19 #coronavirus #kidsofinstagram #wildandfreelittles #wildandfreekids #quote #encouragement #feelings #sad #worried #letthembelittle #itsokaytocry

Today is the feast day of St. Mary Magdalene, who was the apostle to the apostles. If ever we needed a role model like her, it's today--amidst fear, hopelessnes...s & despair, she stood by her Lord at his tomb and announced the hope and glory of his resurrection. We need Mary's faith and encouragement through these monotonous Coronatide days. See more

I am hearing from so many people right now who are scared, tired, and sad and I am right there with you. I think in the face of that, one of the things we can d...o is bless the crap out of each other. So, this is a blessing for us. It is from Augustine, North African Bishop in the 4th Century. Dear Lord, stay awake with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and set your angels to guard those who sleep. Tend your sick ones, O Lord Christ. Rest your weary ones. Bless your dying ones. Soothe Your suffering ones. Pity your afflicted ones. Shield your joyous ones. And all, for Your Love’s sake. Amen.

Christians should be on the front line of helping others and saving lives. Please wear a mask?

I'm feeling the weight of how hard life is lately, so I'm thinking...how about we just bless each other? This is a blessing for when you're scared or in danger.... Either from illness, exposure to illness and injustice. People whose bodies feel delicate. This is a blessing from the post-empire Roman world. I love prayers like this. Prayers after your civilization is in decline. Sound familiar? O Christ our Lord, our beautiful physician, Give to all who are sick the help of heavenly healing. Look on all who are sick. We call your name. Take us, take us, body and heart and soul, into your care. Save us. Save us from our diminishment. Save us from our sickness. Save us from all that harms us. Through Jesus Christ. Amen.
