The next ZOOM meeting of the London Chapter, Ontario Archaeological Society will be held on Thursday, March 11th, 2021, as always beginning at 7:30 PM meeting. ...The speaker will be: Dr. Darrin Lowery, Research Associate, Smithsonian Institution, who will be ZOOMING into us from Michigan. His presentation is entitled: Late Pleistocene Geoarchaeology: A Long-Term Collective Investigation of Eroding Coastal Landforms in the Middle Atlantic Region. Dr. Lowery will discuss his ground breaking work in Maryland and Virginia on sites exposed by coastal erosion around Chesapeake Bay and vicinity where he has discovered 10,000+ year old sites with fluted points and also what are some of the best candidates for even earlier Pre-Clovis sites ever reported. The 2021 Annual Symposium is still looking for Session and Workshop Proposals. It will be entirely virtual and will be held by our Ottawa Chapter this year betw...een October 18-24, 2021! With the twin themes of Origins and Growth, they wish to invite session and workshop proposals which give cause to pause and evaluate the roads we have collectively traveled as an organization, as a profession, and as a discipline in our privileged access to the past, while simultaneously exploring the potential for growth in the future of the discipline. 2020 edition of Iroquoia Call for Submissions and ReviewersArticles are sought for Iroquoia's sixth issue. Your scholarly papers on any subject related to the Haudenosaunee are most welcome. Disciplines such as history, anthropology, archaeology, linguistics, art, literature, ecology, political science, and education may be appropriate formats for articles. This is a peer-reviewed publication. Your article will be sent to three anonymous peer reviewers. Please allow time for their thoughtful responses.

For our next chapter meeting on September 11th for a presentation by Jim Shropshire on his research into the evolution of the three earliest buildings at the Jesuit mission of Sainte Marie I, based on Kenneth Kidd’s archaeological excavations of the site from 1940 to 1941.
