Harold wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. A special thank you to Sarah Britton and our entire team of vision therapists that take extra time out of their schedules to get Elf on the Shelf out there. #elfontheshelf #visiontherapy #elfontheshelf2020

This is a great post and this is one of my first recommendations when parents come in with a child under the age of 6 months that is noticed to develop an eye turn. I recently had a young patient that was 5 months of age where the parents were noticing an eye turn, particularly when he was in the jumper. I advised some activities including helping him roll in both directions (they hadn’t realized that their little guy was rolling only one way) and keep him out of these carr...iers as much as possible. I had a recent follow up and (although grandmother had a hard time giving up the jumper) they noticed the eye turn disappeared. Now that he is crawling they noticed an army crawl with one leg up...the side of the eye turn, so now we are working on helping him get a balanced crawl. This mom said I had no idea how the eyes were so connected with the gross motor development and how these devices can impede the natural progressions of my child.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my VT patients and my fabulous VT staff

Functional Field Analysis is a valuable tool in determining which system is out of balance. From any-gravity, accommodation, and even toxicity...these fields tell us so much and truly help direct the treatment in the vision therapy room.
Some hints for VT from therapists and patients : 1) Journal everything so you can see your progress. 2) Looking and dissecting the problem does not help with solutions. Be a solution seeker by opening up your side vision. 3) Different sandbox different language. ... Feel free to ask questions and we are happy to dig deeper.
From one of vision therapy’s amazing instructors, Dr Robert Sanet.

As we are coming up to the middle of August it’s time to think of back to school. Whatever your school options will be this fall (online, in class, homeschool) your child’s vision will be critical in their success. Book your child’s eye exam today.
I would like to congratulate Krysten and Connor O'Neill for successfully completing their PVTAP certification through Vision Therapy Canada. HVTC is proud to have 2 more certified therapists. #visiontherapy #visiontherapycanada #optometry #neurovision
