BTS with Elyse Longair, A studio visit, a chat with a new friend, up-close and personal behind the scenes with Ignite’s exhibiters. My interdisciplinary work references and engages with simple images, primarily using collage. The simple images encourage us to rethink and reflect on the role of imagination. In my current series, I aim to explore how fragmented worlds of a reconstructed past may question our notions of time and reshape our thinking of the future.

BTS with Cailin Doherty, A studio visit, a chat with a new friend, up-close and personal behind the scenes with Ignite’s exhibiters. @cdoherty.art is a Toronto-based illustrator. I explore relationships, connections, and moments through both human and anthropomorphic characters who are inspired by my lovely friends. I enjoy designing characters, making comics, and painting portraits. In my post-grad life, I’m revisiting some fun analogue techniques in my portraits and looking forward to learning Procreate on iPad--much to come.

BTS with Julien Woolley-Fisher, A studio visit, a chat with a new friend, up-close and personal behind the scenes with Ignite’s exhibiters. We Caught up with Julien, in Montreal. I am currently in the Plateau neighborhood of Montreal. Montreal is new to me, so I am spending a lot of time familiarizing myself with the city, while making art in completely new surroundings and circumstances. My work is about environments and relations and understanding my position within the culture-nature divide. No doubt, the present circumstances will force my practice to shift. Starting my thesis year at OCAD, I am intrigued to see how the current conditions will affect my forthcoming work
