Congratulations to UR J-School and Indigenous Communication Arts -INCA students for their incredible investigative journalism work on Broken Promises! Broken Pr...omises is an unprecedented investigation into water quality issues in First Nations communities. Beyond drinking water quality, Broken Promises explores the sacredness of water within Indigenous cultures and how contaminated water is poisoning not only the body, but also the spirit. This current affairs program was produced by students in JRN306 at the School of Journalism, University of Regina with research contributions from students at First Nations University of Canada. Through this project, the students also had an opportunity to partner with working journalists and national media organizations. Visit http://brokenpromises.urjschool.ca/ for the full Broken Promises video, as well as articles, interactive geomaps, timelines, and infographics.
