March is very special for our sector because March is now recognized as Community Social Services Awareness month in BC! It was a beautiful sunny day yesterday but it’s still cold. Our Oceanside Day Program participants have chosen to look at at the Arctic as their theme until Spring comes around! Alongside studying arctic animals, participants also focused on the beautiful Northern Lights. Using black paper and chalks everyone had a chance to create their own version! What do you think of when you think of the Arctic?!

Did anyone else get woken up by the crazy wind and rain on Monday night?! To get our garden ready for the colder months ahead, Discovery Program participants have been busy pruning the Lavender. This has to be one of the best things about having Lavender! They made lovely little Lavender Sachets they smell so good!

Applicants with experience in supporting people with developmental disabilities in a community setting will be considered. Incumbent is responsible for ongoing conditions of employment as deemed necessary for job requirements (i.e. first aid, driver’s license, Criminal Record Check). Class 4 Unrestricted Driver’s License Ability to relate effectively to persons with intellectual and physical disabilities. Ability to effectively support people who may exhibit chal...lenging behaviors. Ability to work as an effective team member and on own supporting person served on a 1:1 basis or with a group of individuals. Demonstrated initiative in assisting an individual to develop personal networks and establish recreational and social activities. Demonstrate ability to develop, write, and follow through with personalized program plans, including goal setting and activity processes. Demonstrate ability and willingness to try new activities that may prove challenging. Ability to document effectively. Ability to report incidents, as required. Able to use own vehicle for work related tasks and activities. See more
