Question: At this time of the year do you cut back your grasses or not? The Answer is that it’s up to you. You can leave your grasses and Hydrangea blooms to give you interest through out the winter. Or you can cut them back now to save time in the Spring. Just make sure that your cut them back early enough as the Hydrangea blooms on new wood and you don’t want to cut back the fresh grass leaves early in the season. #grasses #hydrangea #winterinterest #landscaping #ottawa

We installed these beautiful whimsical and magical gardens a few weeks ago (during all that rain). So happy for the way they turned out though. The Weeping Alaskan Cedars, the Weeping Pine, the Weeping Blue Spruce and the Red Columar Beech trees all add a certain unique style and feel to this garden. We also added the pea stone around the pool with feature boulders to give the edges a natural beach-look. Let us know what you think of this garden in the comments below. #thankyou #grateful #whimsical #magical #gardens #landscaping #ottawa

Hens and Chicks, also know as Sempervivium Tectorum, are so simple, beautiful and easy to grow. Their Latin name actually translates to ‘always living on roofs’. This is because they stay evergreen and can live right on top of rocks as they don’t have a deep root base. They are very easy to care for and look beautiful on stones and as features in your garden. #hensandchicks #landscaping #ottawa

We completed the front yard of this project last year, however with issues with our client’s watermain the front yard had to be ripped up and had to be redone again. We did that, and completely re did the backyard too. Just waiting for a custom made bench to be installed. Will post updated photos. Love creating functional art for our amazing clients! This client was an absolute joy to work for! #gardeninstallation #Banasstone #flagstone #featurelighting #irrigation #landscaping #ottawa

A Garden and Sod Installation we did earlier this year! A total of 70 yards of soil brought in for this project. It’s so important to build a proper base for your perennials and shrubs so they have a healthy place to set their roots and grow overtime. Nice Picea Pungens ‘Glauca Globosa’ Paula! Highly recommend adding these and many other types of evergreens to your gardens for structure, height, colour, and of course winter interest! We can’t emphasize enough how important it is to have structure in your gardens. Without it you are missing the ‘bones’ of your gardens! #structure #evergreens #winterinterest #landscaping #ottawa
