For those of you who know me, it won't be a surprise for me to say I make decisions quickly. They aren't without research, I just choose not to dwell on my choices once made. Today I made the tough decision to take the second egg out of the basket, leaving me with one... my application to the MSW program at Wilfred Laurier. Therefore, all my eggs are in one basket. I let go of a bigger dream, seeing the reality that it's not the right time... even if I really want it to ...be and have an amazing group of people in my life who believe in me. It's not that I don't believe in myself either or think I'm not good enough. The facts simply added up to not spending my holidays putting together an application that more than likely would be rejected. I'm okay with this decision, even though it hurts to let go of a dream. I'm hopeful that September 2021 I'll be in the MSW program, but, if not, I'll work through those feelings at that time. Last week when I posted about my intentions, it really helped me stay focused and do what I intended to do!! So, this week I am doing it again: - Do the things I committed to doing for the @bravingbody conference. - Read my text book chapters for week 1 of my FINAL TWO courses so I'm ahead. - Work thru my day job to do list.... - Show up present and focused at all my appointments and sessions. - Show up on my mat for myself. - Use my new heating pad at night before bed a few times throughout the week. I posted on my personal facebook about not experiencing joy for cooking (or baking). I was honestly surprised how many people see it as self-care, meditative, their love language and other positive attributions. I would love to enjoy cooking and baking, but I'd be lying if I said I did. I have realized through that post that I likely don't enjoy it for the following reasons: It does not spark ANY joy... food does - preparation does not - therefore it's a 'have to', not ...a want to. My past history of disordered eating and food frustrations. It's time consuming and there are sooooooooo many others ways I would prefer to spend that time... with more exciting outcomes. . . It's hard to admit this because I really do WANT to enjoy it. I no longer have a disordered relationship with food, which I'm so grateful for... that healing just didn't come with a love of cooking or baking. . .
