You spoke and we listened! We've had a lot of interest in our 5-8 Musical Theatre Classes this year, so much so that we've decided to open up another class! Our new class will be running on WEDNESDAYS from 4:00PM - 5:30PM... This class focuses on teaching students ages 5 to 8 years old the basic building blocks of acting, singing, and dance. They'll learn simple dance routines, group songs, and work on small plays they will perform throughout the year. March to the beat of your own drummer this fall, come learn how to play the drums at Inspire Arts! Oh no! We realized that we never gave an update on our very first Musical Theatre camp! Our four actors were our very first group in July and they gave us their very own version of the classic 'Little Mermaid'....with a couple of other fairytale details thrown in.... This time around, a mermaid queen gave her daughter a Squirtle as a present for her first birthday. But she never invited her sister Ursula to the party, which made Ursula a little bit upset. On the princess's fifth birthday, Ursula cast a curse on the mermaid that took away her voice and transported her to land. But luckily, the mermaid queen and Squirtle discovered her plan and put a stop to it! This group was such a positive and fun start to the summer! We always love our campers' creativity.

This is it, our final Summer Camp re-cap! We hope you enjoyed reading about our student's creativity as much as we enjoyed working with it! For our final 9-12 Musical Theatre Camp, our girls wrote a script about two friends who start out on a trip to Florida for vacation, when they're suddenly left in the middle of no-where by their driver! The girls meet a monkey named Bob who offers help, but they're not sure they should trust him...a monkey in the desert? When two cowboys ...show up the friends think this is the good luck they've been waiting for! But unfortunately, the cowboys are evil and lock the two girls in prison when they refuse to be the cowboy's servants. Will our mysterious monkey Bob be able to help them? Will they stop fighting and realize they both made mistakes? Only time will tell! See more

And just like that, our summer camp season is over! It's hard to believe but it's true. So let's take one last look at how amazing our last Musical Theatre camp was! Last week we had a smaller team, so they both decided on the Wild West as a setting for their shows. While we did write two separate scripts, all actors had parts in both.... Our 5-8 team was particularly creative this week. Our story began with a lonesome cowboy looking for adventure when he ends up in Food Town! There, he meets French Fries (yup, you read that right!) and they decide to go after the mysterious treasure that's in the depths of a maze. But two rival cowgirls overhear their plan and decide to follow our heroes to take the treasure for their own! Will goodness and honesty prevail over sneaky deceit? Most likely

Another Musical Theatre re-cap! Our first Musical Theatre Camp in August had more than just our parrot-snatching mystery musical. Our 9-12 class came up with their own fantastical story full of magical (and hilarious) characters. Zoey is a quiet girl who doesn't have a lot of friends, but she has a huge imagination. When the opportunity to enter a writing contest comes along, she's excited to sign up! While shopping with her mom (who keeps trying to out-do her PTA rival Mars...ha) Zoey finds a magical old book that brings whatever you write in it to life! Zoey creates three amazing friends: Taylor the vegetarian vampire, Rose the enchantress, and Yuni the unicorn. But when anything you write comes true...it can cause some complications. This story included one actress playing multiple (read: FIVE) parts, and not one, but TWO songs! They performed 'Remember Me' and 'A Million Dreams'. This was a very ambitious project and we are so proud how it all turned out!

We're getting ready to finish up this summer's last Musical Theatre Camp performance, but we thought we'd throwback to last week's amazing shows for you! Our 5-8 Class came up with their film noir-Esq mystery musical! While rehearsing for a Pirate Musical, the lead actress notices that the play's star parrot is missing! She calls in Detective Amber, the detective cat, who deduces that it must be an inside job! Could it be the two directors that are behind this evil crime?... This show was full of mystery, drama, and an excellent rendition of 'How Far I'll Go' at the end!

Okay, we're humble-bragging again! We can't help it! Our July Musical Theatre Campers in our 5-8 age range also worked so hard to create their own musical! Their show involved two princesses who meet in the forest and become fast friends, only to be ambushed by three villains who say that the forest is THEIR home. The Princesses run back to their castle, and the villains hatch a plan to teach them a lesson. Impersonating pizza delivery people, they sneak into the palace and d...emand an audience with the princesses. Will they become friends and solve their differences? Will the princesses get their pizza? Only time will tell... Our little guys also came up with characters they wanted to play from some of their own favourite musicals and wrote a plot that wove them all together. They learned choreography, designed their set, and discussed what goes into creating a new show! Want in on this action? We have two more Musical Theatre camps running in August.
