Excerpt from the poster: "Iqra Islamic School is approved by the Manitoba Education and Training (MET). Our students learn various subjects throughout the day, such as mathematics, sciences, social studies, and more through the Manitoba curriculum. All of our homeroom teachers are certified by the Manitoba Education & Training. Every schoo...l day, we are given 45 minutes to teach our students about various Islamic topics, such as prophetic biography (Seerah), Duas, Qur’an, Tajweed, and more. We use a UK-based Islamic curriculum to ensure our students learn according to their grade level. We also offer language courses, such as Arabic, French, and Japanese. These topics are taught by professional, well-seasoned teachers. We also have a dedicated, full-time nursery program for parents who want their children to have a head-start!" See more

Assalamualaikum, We hope this message reaches you and your families well. Manitoba Education has informed us that in-classroom learning for the 2020/21 school year will begin for our students on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 inshAllah.... We are very much looking forward to seeing all students in class, however, we are also preparing for a variety of scenarios based on public health protocols that are to be expected come September. All of our procedures follow the recommendations of Manitoba Health. In order to keep our students as safe as we possibly can, we have hired additional employees to ensure that students are following social distancing procedures. As soon as students enter our campus, our employees will make sure all students are within normal temperatures through the use of a non-contact infrared thermometer. Following a temperature check, all students will be required to sanitize their hands with the use of hand sanitizer. An additional sink has been put in place for students who choose to wash their hands prior to classroom instruction. Some things to keep in mind: 1) Please keep your child at home if they are showing sign of a fever, cold, or have trouble breathing. 2) If any child show symptoms of a fever or cold, our teachers will provide a learning package for students to complete at home. 3) We highly encourage all parents to teach their children how to wash their hands properly if they haven’t done so already prior to the start of the school year. We will have posters up in both the boys and girls washrooms to act as a visual aid as students wash their hands. We’ll do our part, please ensure you do your part to help keep our students, staff, and community as safe as possible. We're approaching maximum capacity in a few select grades, to which we will not be accepting admissions thereafter.
