In conversation with Brice Ominski In your opinion, what is the key to business resilience? Sound architecture principals are the foundation of real business resilience. While these principals enable us to build businesses that can survive many scenarios, perhaps the greatest benefits they provide are in those situations that we cannot predict upfront.... What helps you when making tough decisions? Tough decisions are tough for one of several reasons. The choices are not clearly defined, the outcomes of those choices are not clear, or they challenge our individual assumptions about the world. Often blind spots in our thinking can make these difficult decisions even tougher. With tough decisions I always look to others, through literature or by talking with them, for ideas to help me better understand those choices. What motivates you? Life is incredible. To see people enjoying life and taking part is incredibly inspirational. Technology is one thing that can be exciting as we can solve problems that make life a little bit easier, and more enjoyable. For me personally, solving difficult problems and seeing the solution help people are incredibly motivational experiences.

Any user can introduce risk, so educate all the employees about safety behaviour in the world of unlimited knowledge, show technics how to recognize a threat, avoid unnecessary risks, and what to do if they felt a victim of an attack. We can do a lot with technology to protect the infrastructure; however, the weakest link is human.... What are the security challenges organizations face when enabling remote access? There are many risks; some are about credentials stealing, Ransomware, extortion, but others are after corporate information. The most difficult challenge for IT is to secure various devices from which an employee connects to the enterprise. What is the #1 advice to enhance cybersecurity? There are no rules in cyberwars. The first thing that an organization needs to know is what assets needed to be protected at all costs. So, the incidence response plan is the #1 suggestion. What is your favourite thing about technology? It’s the future. You wake up every morning without knowing what will be invented today or what technology will be introduced to the world.

In conversation with Aishwarya (Ash) Gopalakrishnan What is your favourite thing about technology? That it is born out of human intellect and intelligence, and yet somehow, it seems limitless!... How will further technology advances impact the world? When one of our dear clients asked me this question, the very thing that came to my mind was not a specific technology solution. Rather, it was a workstyle change. My vision for technology is for it to be able to help humans accomplish tasks faster, efficient and error-free whereby, the employees and leadership are able to focus on the important intangible aspects such as inclusion, sustainability, ethics and fulfillment of their life form as a human being. What motivates your work in business consulting? Simple. Solving problems! It brings me a lot of happiness in knowing that I can help my clients by solving their problems through my expertise. In conversation with Rees Ewonchuk How do you keep pace with the speed of technology improvements? Constant reading, fun in my labs, and always trying new things.... Favourite thing about technology? Now there are far less procurement processes and we can spin up apps and services significantly faster than we were able to. How would you describe virtualization to a 5-year-old? Virtualization is like one real computer running many different computers inside of it. How do you work out your work-life balance? It helps having a flexible schedule. I am able to do somethings during the day when others typically can’t, so that allows me to work in the evenings as well. My family is very supportive of this and it overall works quite well.

In conversation with Sonja Djkc What is the key to making ideas happen? Drafting a plan and working on it would be the simplest answer. However, the time to reflect and let your mind process the ideas is as important.... How have technology solutions impacted communication? Communication today is fast, cost-effective and with plenty of options. My takeaway is that technology makes it easy to share ideas and work from anywhere in the world, and at the same time the foundation for effective communication has not changed - it’s based on concise and clear messages. How has reading changed in the digital world? Reading is a skill that adapts to a medium, be it a book or a screen. Reading from a screen is skimming through a text, and what we get is a faster way of absorbing information. On the other hand, a print medium allows for slowing down and comprehending ideas better. Print or digital, I love how reading can change your perspective and expand the mind for different views on the world. What is your favourite read? This year two books influenced me the most, ‘Thinking, Fast and Slow’ by Daniel Kahneman and ‘A Stich of Time‘ by Lauren Marks. Both books take you through a remarkable journey on how the brain works and it is fascinating to learn about the technology of our mind.

It solves many hardware related issues, makes infrastructure virtual, and more flexible. What is your favourite thing about technology? It’s definitely Clouds. Because of their reliability, flexibility, and accessibility. If the universe is just a simulation, what update or patch does it need? Just a little patch which adds 2-3 hours to a 24-hour day. It would be very helpful :) Do you love working from home or would you rather work from the office? Maybe the best thing about my job is the ability to work literally from anywhere. All I need is internet access and a backpack with a laptop. And voila, here is my office! So, I prefer the Office, but with the view.
