The kiddo: What's the most important part about a party? Me: Everyone has fun? Him: And? Me: Uhhhh... Him: Cake! Cake is a celebration food!... Good point. He'd like to play a surprise party for the dog and make a piñata she can whack with her tail. It turns out he has this all planned out.

My son says they're playing this cool game in gym class at kindergarten. It's called garbage. Boys are on one side of the gym, girls are on the other. They have a pile of balls which is the 'garbage', and they try and throw it on the other team's side of the gym. When the teacher blows the whistle which ever side has more garbage loses. He was complaining that there are more girls in his class. I'm not sure if that is true or not, but obviously his team did not win. ;-)

I can see why my husband finds junior high kids fun. They're mature enough to make good jokes but not so mature they've lost their playfulness.
