I've been working on developing some new glaze colours. Here I made 400 mL of a clear base that has a buttery-smooth satin finish. I then divided it into four Solo cups. I added 2g of a Mason stain to one cup and dipped a test tile. I added another gram, dipped a second test tile and repeated this process until I had a total of 5 grams of stain in the cup and 4 test tiles. This process was repeated with the other three cups with a total of four different stains. The test tile...s are made of three different clays to see how the glaze reacts with the various clays that we use. I'll post the tiles again after they are fired to show the results. In case you are doing the math and thinking the number of test tiles in the photo doesn't match my explanation, the reason is that there are also some test tiles from my Rain glaze tests that I explained in the video from the other day.
