The ‘ZOLAS Live Jazz Saturday Nights ONLINE!’ live stream performance series is intended to help local jazz musicians, especially those who normally depend on live performances as a major part of their income, by paying them for their live stream performances. In fact, a survey of about 1000 Canadian artists and cultural workers indicated that, as of May 27th, 83% (!) of respondents’ average arts-related income is expected to be lost or at risk through the end of the year (...https://hillstrategies.com//impacts-of-covid-19-on-canadia). Performers’ fees for the weekly ZOLAS live streams are being covered by a GoFundMe campaign www.gofundme.com/f/zolas-live-jazz-saturday-nights-online.
