Friends- while undergoing my own repairs to my cyborg bionics today at WestPark Science Centre- I had the privilege to meet a new friend John. Great name btw..j...ust recently had his legs amputated and was starting his own physiotherapy. He stated he felt lost and confused as to why this accident happened and if there would be any light at the end of that proverbial tunnel. He asked if he would be where I am someday in terms of quality of life and mobility! I shared my own seminal developments and journey from tragedy to triumph, to impossible to possible, to believe and experience the here and now, to know that stars shine only in darkness, to which his eyes glazed to hope than despair, a small glimmer of hope came through his momentary smile. There is no greater connecting feeling than to step out of your own world, too take the time to share a word of encouragement, what is possible, to be an example of life after loss! Life is fragile, we are in this together, embrace diversity, sit with the broken every chance you have, strive to live to your own potential and leave a trail of love, encouragement and support! #bethechange #lifeistobelived #neverstopbelieving #refusetobeavictim #yougotthis See more

Oct 29: QSR hosted a very full meeting this morning, first hearing from fellow Rotarian John Cairns, who talked to out club about the Wheelchair of Hope Foun...dation (www.wheelchairofhope.ca). Established in 2013, the Foundation main goal is to help provide mobility to those who need it, be it with wheelchairs, power chairs, scooters, or rollators. After losing his right arm and leg in a workplace accident in 1992, John spent years recovering and in rehabilitation adapting to his new reality. His determination, vision, and commitment have helped him live a full and active life, and he wants to provide the same to those with mobility needs. There are approximately 6.8 million Canadians have some degree of impairment and 25% of these are kids. Faced with these barriers, difficulties are only compounded as they are excluded - either physically or socially - from many aspects of life, including education. Many have little access to mobility due to a lack of funds or an understanding of how to access funding. The Foundation collects donations to purchase new equipment, retrofit donated materials, and connects people with the right organizations to help them gain their independence. The Foundation is currently working on a 'Mobi-mat' for North Beach in Prince Edward County. Modeled on the mat recent revealed in Wasaga Beach (http://bit.ly/1l9LHrC), this mat will allow those with limited mobility (and those with strollers) access to the beach. Many thanks to John for his eye-opening and inspiring presentation!

Living my purpose! Never base your potential on your circumstances! You have to believe in yourself!... You are born to win! Now take action...and do it.....:-)

Friends: As you look at your life, ask yourself the question; what would your life be like, what would your life look like, if you didn't care of the opinions of others, to give up your fears, to navigate the unknown's!? What would your life be like if you decided to become courageous!!! It takes courage to sit in the cockpit of fear and the unknown.... What would your life look like, if you decided to act on what your heart wants! It takes courage to live this life! Most people live life not allowing themselves to step out because they refuse to let go. They don't want to be blown around, taken out of their comfort zone, the courage to face life's whirly winds of contradictions, the courage to take a chance, the courage to love, the courage to love yourself, the courage to be who you are! Many people are dead while their alive. All the dreams, all their talents and desires, lie dormant, collecting dust, buried inside them to take with them to the grave because they didn't have the courage to manifest their greatness! Folks, we must live our life with a sense of urgency! Life has no guarantees. What are you waiting for? Time to leave the runway, time to end the doubt and disbelief--time to fly! Never allow the voice of inner-doubt to become a dream-stealer, a possibility theif! Ignore the external voices! Time to embrace the fear and become courageous to fly towards the sky of your dreams, passions, goals and aspirations. I believe in myself- I believe in YOU!!! Say YES TO LIFE! Be fearless! Be courageous! Be inspired, be encouraged! Happy Wednesday :-)

A continued inspiration excerpt from a conversation I had with a gentleman who has been diagnosed with MS and facing amputation of a non-functional limb, in which I will share with you to encourage you as well!! I was asked " how did you become unstuck when life seemed to bury you under a train?" I replied.." Life is never storm proof. Life is not always fair! Birds eat worms, not fair, but that is life! Life has it's high's and has it's low's! Life is always changing; never ...static. You will be faced with insurmountable challenges. It's in those challenges and down times where growth takes place! Yes, growth is a CHOICE! It's easy to have optimism and be positive when business is successful, kids are behaving normal, health is good, relationships are operating smoothly....any one can have a grander vision then, but the real challenge of growth emotionally, mentally and spiritually is when you are knocked down, flat on your back! You are either going though the challenge or you are growing through it!I can guarantee you, you will never leave the challenge until you grow through it! It's in your attitude how you handle the challenge that will determine remaining stuck or growing through it toward victory and success. Do not become immobilized by circumstances and impossibility; become mobilized by an attitude of personal greatness and possibilities! Make a personal declaration: Take charge, get up, and never give up!! Lessons in truth and through my own experiences. Be inspired!

Who needs some MnM's??? Monday Motivation.... I was asked how did I change my life (which is always ongoing), not to minimize life complexity's, however I said.." it's about changing the way you think!" I understand the power of cognition. Early on after my accident, I thought of myself as impaired and disabled - a limited life!... When I thought of my life as abled and endless opportunities, my life became limb-it-less!! I challenge you to challenge yourself towards the way you think, stretch yourself outside your comfort zone, how you spend your time and with whom! We change when we stretch ourselves!! Happy Monday :-)
