I would like to announce that I have recently joined the practice of Gerald A. Swaye, to focus fully on plaintiff personal injury matters. Mr. Swaye has been in practice for 49 years and it is an honour to work with him. Although I am based in Hamilton, I am available to assist with personal injury matters throughout Ontario. If you need assistance, please call me at 905-524-2861 or contact me by email at [email protected] for a free consultation.

I will reiterate something I posted earlier, as it is important. If your auto policy has renewed since September 1, your benefits should you have an accident (regardless of fault) have likely been greatly reduced. You have the option of "buying back" your benefits for a nominal cost (mine was under $75 per year), which I would highly recommend. Contact me if you have any questions.

Have you been injured? Not only could you have a claim but your family may also have a claim under the Family Law Act. This is for their loss of care, guidance and companionship that result from your injuries. Contact me if you have any questions about protecting your family's interest. Jeff

If you have been offered a settlement by an insurance company, it is in your best interest to have a lawyer review the offer. It is possible that it is significantly lower than what it should be. A lawyer can help even the playing field. Contact me for a free review of your offer. Jeff

If you are injured in an accident, you usually only have two years to sue. There are some exceptions but it is best to speak to a lawyer long before the two year mark to protect your rights, as you may lose your right to recovery. Contact me if you need further information. Jeff

Did you know that you are entitled to benefits if you are in a motor vehicle accident, even if you are AT FAULT? Contact me if you have any questions about accident benefits. Jeff

Beware that if you fall on a municipal sidewalk, it is legislated that you need to give them written notice of a potential claim within 10 days. If you are at all injured, play it safe and put them on notice. Contact me if you need assistance with this. Jeff
