JET Global Forum with JETAA-I, AJET, CLAIR, and the ministries was informative. Sounds like there's interest in continuing and perhaps expanding Satogaeri. AJET and JETAA are working on strengthening their symbiotic relationship. And TMG (Tokyo Metropolitan Government) is gearing up to deploy thousands of Olympic volunteers, starting in 2018 ahead of the 2020 games. #JET30yrs #jetaai
The JETAA International Meeting has begun in Tokyo! 25 representatives from 17 countries, discussing how to improve the alumni experience, and how alumni can improve the JET experience.
We're pleased to announcefinally!that the Canada country conference will be held in Vancouver from June 10 through 12. Each chapter gets to send two delegates to the CanCon. If delegates plan to arrive by about 4 PM (PDT) on Friday, June 10, and depart any time after about 1 PM on Sunday, June 12, they won't miss anything. Chapters are responsible for transportation to Vancouver. The airport code for Vancouver International is 'YVR'. ... Transportation between the airport and the conference hotel takes about 35 minutes (by Canada Line SkyTrain) and the CanCon budget will almost certainly cover that. Hotel accommodations are being arranged on a double-occupancy basis (two double beds). There may be some leeway to adjust once we know who exactly will be attending. There's been a relatively short history of cross-attendance between USA and Canada country conferences, and we're hoping to keep that going by also having one or more of the JETAA USA country reps (Cheryl, Monica, and Xander) attend, as JLGC permits. More info to follow soon. Please send any questions to [email protected].
