Happy World Ballet Day! We are excited to join our fellow dance companies around the world for a global celebration to unite the dance community, especially as ...it faces the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. This World Ballet Day, we share with you our first-ever film festival: MOVING STORIES: AN ABT FILM FESTIVAL. Hosted by Principal Dancer Misty Copeland and Emmy Award-winning producer Leyla Fayyaz, the festival features eight short films created by ABT artists and a roundtable discussion with the artists. Hello Friends! I know this page has been quiet for sometime as I figure out a plan of action in these tricky times. Thank you so much to those of you who have reached out with your support and your requests for classes! It is with wonderful people like you that the arts will survive. As an arts organization, Covid-19 has been hard on us. At this point we have been unable to locate a suitable new studio space that can be ready in time and still permit proper social distancin...g and sanitary measures. Along with my freshly broken ankle, it is not possible to open for regular classes this September and so JMP Performing Arts will be going on hiatus. I know that a few months will give us the time we need to find a new home and, I hope, have a chance to open in a more stable and healthy time. Voice lessons will be able to resume via zoom meetings - I will contact voice students to set up lesson times this week. Please continue to check our Facebook page for updates.
