The road to success is long, and the meaning of success for one person is not the same for another. Success if subjective, it is what you make it. You need to set YOUR OWN goals and take YOUR OWN path to get there. Focus on making each day better than the last. It’s going to take months and sometimes years to get to where you are headed, but you need to be consistent and persistent. You’re going to run into tough times, but you have only failed when you quit and stop trying. It’s time to define success your way and it’s time to normalize slow success. You are no less successful than someone else because you took longer. Would you rather work from the comfort of your home or work while you travel? There are a lot of mixed opinions when it comes to working from home. Covid has changed the way a lot of people work and how we will be working in the future. For my online business owners and people working in digital industries: where is your ideal workday view? .a) working from home?... .b) working while traveling? Both answers have their sets of pros and cons, but I know what I’m working towards. I have been a huge fan of traveling for the longest time. Ever since my humanitarian aid trips to Ecuador in 2017 - 2018, I made it a goal to travel at least once a year. Covid has prevented me from achieving this goal, but the work I have been able to accomplish during this time has helped me prepare for after the pandemic is over. For me, traveling opens up new possibilities to grow my network and become more creative. Traveling is an eye-opening experience and I hope every single one of my followers gets the chance to travel many times throughout their lives. That being said. Working from home is also very comforting. I love working from home in peace and having that consistent schedule. My ideal post covid schedule would be 60% work from home and 40% work while traveling. ** Save This Post For Later ** One of the biggest things I struggled with when I first started working in graphic design was pairing fonts. One minute, the fonts I chose were working perfectly for me, and the next they looked absolutely horrid. The thing about design is that it should be natural and not so obvious. You don’t want your designs to scream at people, you want them to work silently. This doesn’t mean that you can’t have fun, but you want your design to be perfect...ly balanced, and part of this is picking the right fonts. No pressure. Over the past 4 years, I have learned a few tricks on how to pick the right fonts. Compliment Don’t use two fancy fonts. Use one that you really like and pick a simple font to go along with it. Two ‘loud’ fonts usually don’t work well together. There are some people who can pull it off, but those are very advanced designers. Visual Hierarchy When you are using your fonts in your design, remember to keep visual hierarchy in mind. Don’t just use the fonts wherever you like. You need to establish a line of sight for people viewing your post. What is the first thing you want them to see versus the last thing? Lead people through your design. Limit Don’t use too many fonts. Simple is key. When you are choosing fonts, think about the purpose that each font has. Who can relate to this? Cheech, my cat, and I are never on the same page. When I have time to chill with him, he doesn’t want any of it. I can coax him with treats and catnip, but there’s no convincing that cat. But... When I’m in the middle of a Zoom meeting or working towards an important deadline, he is physically trying to push the laptop off my lap. Suddenly, he is very possessive over my attention and ignoring him is pointless. But that’s the thing with cats isn’t it? They want what they want when they want it. That being said, my buddy Cheech is one of the best things that has ever happened to me, and the reason why he sits with me while I’m working is because he knows that’s when I need him most.
