OTD: Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin murdered in St. Petersburg. According to Eric Nicol, Rasputin was given poisoned cakes and wine. Then he was shot and his body was thrown in the Neva River. His body was later hauled back out of the river and burned, proving, once again, "better lit than Neva."

Not an antique map post but, 1) it's blowing up on the WMS group, who are far more liberal about these things; 2) I need to push that stupid Nazi ad off my regular news feed; 3) and these are just really pleasing to look at. Good photography and this appeals to our OCD. SSSSo ssssooooothing to the ssssenssesssss.
