Sometimes we forget that kids are people too. We expect them to respond to harshness and punitive practices from us and to take it as it comes. So, this is what happens when you are a Parenting Counsellor & Coach as well as a student. I am currently writing a paper on leadership and I find that many of the traits and behaviours of a successful and effective leader also translate into parenting. Along with the Susan Vobejda quote below, another inspiring quote that can be tied to parenting is by John C. Maxwell, which states: "Leaders become great not because of their power but because of their ability to empower others." As a parent, can you relate to these quotes on leadership? What is your definition of leadership and how does it translate to your relationship with your children? Is there anything you need or want to change in your own parenting practice?
