Protip for my friends who care about real estate, have downpayment ready, and is waiting for the prices to drop to make a move: If you're looking to upgrade to a luxury property or something higher end (800k-1m+), probably okay to wait and see depending on your situation and needs. (Remeber, when you buy low, you sell low. Sell high, buy high) If you're looking to enter the market, don't hold your breath. Entry level products (under 500k) are always extremely competitive, no... matter the market. The news only talk about the overall market, and even then, they could be behind. There's always more people entering the market and it will always be competitive, until Vancouver becomes undesirable (still top 5 city to live in the world). If you're waiting, either take action, or use that down payment for something else. Invest in yourself and your own potential, or stocks, or something. Don't let it sit. I'm not telling you to buy from me, I don't need your business. I'm simply suggesting you to think about doing something with it. Because the bank is making money off of you letting it sit, when you should be investing in it. Opportunities doesn't wait. If you were really serious about buying your first home, you would've done it already. So please invest that down payment in yourself! Use it to make more money. This has been a Kepkay PSA
