Feeling good about where I’m at today. I make mistakes. Big ones. I apologize from my heart. I can do a lot better. I know this deeply. For so long the dark has been a place I try not to go. This year it’s been inescapable and it needed to be. So, I’m exploring it, with trepidation. Trying to do so clearly now, bit by bit. The process has been underway for a couple years, but there is still work to do. Compassion and love to everyone out there in the shadows. May we remember that we are all, at our essences, bright lights. May we acknowledge our dark with open hearts and understanding. May we be kind to others along the way.

Throwback to this performance back in 2010 ~ Canmore Dance Coalition ~ my first performance back, 9 months after having Grace. It was also the first time I danced my own dance and by that I mean a choreography I created by guitar music from my friend @stevehjorleifson that wasn’t Belly Dance - it was a dance I envisioned because I loved the music - it was an expression that went against my norm. After having a baby I felt very powerful - and exhausted - but also creative -... in a new way. I am grateful to that opportunity to perform, to Stevie’s music for the inspiration, for the platform @dancingdevas provided and the kindred spirit of @banffbellydance and our Troupe Rocky Mountain Raks. We’re working on a new show and it’s exciting - and scary - and exhausting - and exhilarating all at the same time.
