Sunday love Thank you to all the equine essential workers who look after our babies in these trying times. It’s hard to not see your pony...But think about this... if you bring COVID-19 into the barn (so much a symptomatic transmission going on) and the barn staff gets sick, who’s going to look after your horse? And what if the staff gets more than the mild version? Not worth it! ... So thank the barn staff and enjoy the videos or pictures that may get sent to you like this one from Kate Freethy I miss the Eddie squeals (volume up for the after roll!) #clarkeventing #heldortren #eddiespaghetti #eddiesqueals

I officially have an Intermediate horse! There were a lot of cobwebs to dust off! (We haven’t evented since last August). There is room for improvement in each phase. We got a little sabotaged by some deer flies in dressage but Eddie was a little bit of a monkey as well. Show jumping was clear with time (Julie was touring as usual). The jumps are still too small for him. . Sadly cross country was a real challenge. Not because of the course but because my bit that I scho...oled in this spring is soooooooooo not good enough on game day. And The chain hook on the Pelham broke in warm up and we had to tape it to stay on. I had real steering and break issues so we racked up a cricket score in time penalties alone. Eddie did all the hard questions on course and I feel confident we will be back even better next outing. I can’t wait! It was so good to be out competing again. What a great job by Bob and Sarah at Grandview. Many thanks to all the volunteers and I apologize to any jump judges that may have heard some interesting words said to Eddie while I was on cross country. There were a few swear words, there were many other comments. But we had fun!!!! Special shout outs to Kate Freethy and Jaime for making Eddie look spectacular on Friday and Charlotte Hodgson for helping out as my groom on the day - Eddie loves his aunties . And of course, to all of our great sponsors who help us get to where we need to be and perform our best August Equine Selleria Equipe MDC Stirrups Boogaloo Gasparini Training & Therapies Nardine Oakes - The Strong Rider

Stretchy Saturdays . Check out these speedy post ride stretches from my wonderful sponsor, Kristy from @gasparinitrainingtherapies .... #Repost @gasparinitrainingtherapies This is my easy and simple post-ride stretching routine. I felt Izzi’s left hind to be a little sticky today during lateral movements. Even during his stretching you can see his reluctance to let me work with his left hind leg. From there I used a bit of the Masterson Method technique of releasing tension in his hip and sacrum. Can’t wait to see how he feels tomorrow! It is oh so important to keep on top of your horse’s bodywork. By doing this quick and easy stretching routine after you ride, you can not only release tension, but you can feel where your horse may be holding tension (through reluctance or decreased range of motion) and get a jump on it early! Also a great tool to use between appointments to decide if I need to come out to see your horse sooner than our scheduled interval

It’s in the genes! . I was watching the jog up on Virtual Eventing for the NAF Virtual 5* Eventing Competition and heard the stallion of @harris.caroline ‘s (GBR) 4* mount Falko TH, is the same as Eddie - Elderado van de Zeshoek is a top jumper stallion! .... Looks like he can produce top event horses too! And there’s definitely a stamp he put on his babies. Eddie and Joey (Falko TH) look so similar and both love to smile. . Best of luck to Falko TH and Caroline. I’ll be stalking these two for sure this weekend!!

The most important aspect to a sponsorship or ambassadorship program for me, is that I need to believe in the product 100%. Many of my sponsors became partners after I had been using the products for years. Quality is of utmost importance. I'm so thrilled to be partnered with some extraordinary businesses and honoured to be a part of their team. The costs associated with campaigning horses at the international level of competition make it impossible for me to reach her goals ...without support from generous sponsors. During these tricky times, I thought I would take the time to share them with you all! First up, MDC Stirrups ! I began my sponsorship with MDC Stirrups in 2014. I met Martin Cohen at Jersey Fresh International in May 2014 where she was introduced to S Flex stirrup. I rode once in this stirrup and was sold. My first ride in them was on Cross Country at the CCI** event. After a hairy jump in the water with only a few strides to the B element, I lost my stirrup. Once I was over the B element, I just turned my toe and there it was. Martin was right. They were easy to find quickly if you lost it. I also find them very supportive. Riding numerous horses a day, my old stirrups had flex like these new ones do, but the foot base was narrow. The wider foot base of the ‘S’ stirrup makes for much happier legs at the end of the day. I also feel much more secure in them. A good feeling to have going around a large cross country course. Many of my students have also discovered these stirrups and I've seen a significant improvement in my students' stability in the saddle and leg position. MDC stirrups truly work for every kind of rider. Whether you’re an event rider or just like to go for a hack, MDC stirrups will give you the base of support that you need! Thank you so much to MDC stirrups for supporting Clark Eventing . : Ian Woodley #clarkeventing #mdcstirrups #ilovemysponsors #thankyou
