I’m sorry. In my mind I think of you very often I mean to send you a message, a thoughtful gift I remember our times together I smile alone... Time flies I wish I’d call you more often I’m longing for our small talk And craving for our profound conversation I don’t get to comment on your posts I have a hard time answering your email promptly Many times I thought about sending you a note or a letter Life is busy. Life is abundant. Life is full. I’m only trying to balance it all out. You see my pictures Follow my pages It’s only a glimpse to what I do It shows my success Not often the many tries and cries Not the hidden layered depth of my work These days even my biggest success aren’t always shared Neither do my smallest I’m soaking it all in And trying to appreciate the moment But you’re not here to witness it And I miss you A little write up for all the people I miss connecting with
Thank you to my dear friend K. Frances Beadwork for this custom jewelry piece featuring beautifully my Silver Appleyard heritage duck feathers.
I’m very determined, that’s why I’m farming. -me. But at what cost? My physical, emotional & mental health? It has been. Not anymore. I see farming now as a way to maintain my whole being. I learned tools to do physical jobs (this coop weighs about 200lbs and I pulled it on my own from the barn onto soft ground after mucking out about 25 wheelbarrows full of chicken/duck/geese manure) I learned to listen to my rhythm (mostly menstrual one to fine tune to my energy lev...els) I learned to to-do-list and draw self compassion & proudness when things go one way or another...! Are you interested in learning simple effective ways to support yourself before the season of gardening, homesteading or farming goes on full swing? This! This year I felt I was instinctively fine tuning myself to the weather so much, it got colder I was slower and ate more, it was sunnier my energy perked up, etc. It’s wonderful to feel so atuned to the weather, the seasons, and the land. I felt the slow coming of Spring in my bones, for me the equinox feels like a summit. This gives me empowerment & wisdom, knowing that my whole being intimately atunes to its environment

I twine my hands into grass stems and the green bodies of medicine weeds. Letting my fingers touch the warm fertile soil. Breathing in the rich scent of wild ...life. In these moments, I call my power back into my body. Remembering all the places I left it, where I let it go and hid it. So I could become small, shameful, distortedly safe and apologetic. I whisper life back into the gaps in my bones, where I allowed them to be hollowed out; and it comes, like a ghostly wolf, inhabiting me once again, so I can become more flesh, more real, more alive. It is in these moments that I call myself back home. To me, to nature. Brigit Anna McNeill art | Kamhi on DeviantArt
Feel the rhythm of your heartbeat and the expanding and releasing of your lungs. The chambers of your lungs are constantly absorbing oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide as your heart steadily pumps rivers of fluid nutrients throughout your entire organism. How does your mood shift as you witness the strong, silent power of your organism in action?... Self-Awakening Yoga by Don Stapleton
"Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky, The flying cloud, the frosty light: The year is dying in the night; Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.... Ring out the old, ring in the new, Ring, happy bells, across the snow: The year is going, let him go; Ring out the false, ring in the true. Ring out the grief that saps the mind, For those that here we see no more; Ring out the feud of rich and poor, Ring in redress to all mankind. Ring out a slowly dying cause, And ancient forms of party strife; Ring in the nobler modes of life, With sweeter manners, purer laws. Ring out the want, the care, the sin, The faithless coldness of the times; Ring out, ring out my mournful rhymes, But ring the fuller minstrel in. Ring out false pride in place and blood, The civic slander and the spite; Ring in the love of truth and right, Ring in the common love of good. Ring out old shapes of foul disease; Ring out the narrowing lust of gold; Ring out the thousand wars of old, Ring in the thousand years of peace." Alfred, Lord Tennyson - Watercolor painting 'Peace' by Sarah Reilly
