It's fun to brag and we can't be happier to have a new-to-us face around here at JusFit in Riverview. You will see Susan in the gym most days and we want everyone to know a bit more about her and who she works with. So Susan; tell us more about what you do: "I am a Certified Kinesiologist for the past 25 years and owner/operator of Pro-Kin Rehab since 2002. I work most of the time with individuals involved in Motor Vehicle Accidents. The types of injuries may include: soft ti...ssue injuries; myofascial pain; disc injury; musculoskeletal; post-concussion syndrome; radicular pain/paraesthesia/anesthesia; or Whiplash Associated Disorder I, II, or III. Depending on my client’s physical and emotional rehabilitation needs I may see them in their home; local fitness facility; or in the pool for aqua therapy. The goal of each program is to improve the person’s functional abilities, fitness level (aerobic/endurance and strength), and emotional health and assist the individual to their pre-existing physical condition prior to being injured. Also, I perform office ergonomics assessments. Fit Tip April 12, 2021: What to ask when looking around for a new gym? -When are you busy/slow times? Hours? Do I need to reserve time? -If I need help setting up a program can I get it? -what should I know about your Covid Operational plan? -what can or should I bring with me?... -when do I have to wear my mask? -what are extra fees are there when I sign up? -how long is my "contract", am I able to cancel -how can this gym help me reach my fitness goals and how will it be able to help me maintain this motivation I have now? *Lastly I highly recommend walking in and through any gym you are considering; does it feel right to you, have the equipment you like to use; does it feel like it fits ? I'll answer these questions about JusFit in the comments.. just in case you were wondering ;)

You have finally got your Exercise/Training routine back on track! Doing great, hitting the gym or maybe the pavement 3x a week but what are you eating? Are you still working on getting rid of the mini eggs from Easter? Still craving that refined sugar or chips in the evening? Nutrition is (and I will willingly admit this) a GIANT contributor to our overall health, weight loss success, energy levels and quality of life. Would you agree? So.. now that your exercise routine is... on the upswing might be time to take a look at what is on your plate.. A good start is adding more veggies! Drinking more water :) Have you thought about journaling your food throughout the day. What about pre planning what you will eat after a workout ? Here are a few different definitions; see if any apply to you then take a few minutes to see what you can do to start making small changes, reach out if you need help. - does your day involve a lot of sitting and lying down, with very little to no exercise?... -do you get less than 10 minutes of light to moderate or vigorous leisure-time physical activity a day? (US National Health) -Do you walk less then 3000 steps /25 min (or equivalent) a day? (National Popluation Health Surveys Canada)

Happy Easter Weekend JusFit family! from Julie and Kevin: Reminder that we are closed for today (Friday) only; open Saturday, Sunday and Monday regular hours. What are your Easter plans? We plan to hit the maple camp to stock up on syrup, spend a night with siblings around the fire, enjoy an Easter dinner and Church on Sunday and and course do some special Easter Candy hunting with all 3 of our kiddos (even though they are mostly all teens) If you need to pop in to the office I'll be in there Saturday morning!

Say something nice... "I only review the things I buy not the places I go" This is the answer I got when talking to my 15 yr old today about how good reviews are so important to us as a local business. So I asked her why she never reviews places.. She answered that she usually buys from "small businesses and people that make things like on Etsy" because they need the help so other people will buy from them too. Hmmmm.... She is correct these people all need the reviews as w...ell. However even though we have a building and quite a few people come and go we are definitely a small business and reviews are AMAZING for us too! Why? Think about when you are searching for a gym or place to go for help in personal training. Where is the first place you go? Is it Google? Facebook? Yes... .and then what is the first thing you read; most likely it is the REVIEWS. Reviews are our form of word of mouth (although we certainly still appreciate that form of help ) This type of word of mouth though can reach SOO many other people without you ever knowing it. It can bring new customers right to our door! So please; even if you aren't comfortable stepping into your favorite local business right now but want to support them take just a sec and find them on Google or Facebook and say something really nice; maybe even give a bunch of stars if that's your thing. LAST WORKOUT FOR 2020 Warm Up: Row 2:00 min, Box Step with Knee up 1 min, Inchworms 1min Complete the following for a total of 12 rounds as a small GROUP (choose 4 or 6 rounds if doing individually)... -Box Jumps (or steps) 20 -Pull Ups (assisted or incline under smith machine bar) 20 -Farmer Carry (holding heavy weights) 20 paces x2 -Knee or leg Lifts (done hanging or stabilized on tower) 20 -Dips (off bench, assisted, or free) 20 -Battle Ropes 20 single waves + 20 double slams BIG FINISH: 2020meters of rowing (or ski-erg) as quickly as possible.
