As much as I love being surrounded by the land of living skies which I continuously draw inspiration and colour palettes from, it’s been a minute since I’ve had the opportunity to sink my toes in the sand and walk along the ocean, inhale the salty air, hear the crashing waves, feel the breeze through my hair and warm sun on my skin. I already appreciate travel and access to the ocean so much more now.. Until then I’ll just be over here, dreaming about lake life and summer sun...sets in Saskatchewan.. #appreciatewhatsaroundyou #appreciatewhatsonyourdoorstep #appreciatethelittlethings #appreciate #appreciatewhatyouhave #appreciatewhatsinfrontofyou #appreciatelife #appreciatenature #appreciateyourself #oceanlife #oceanlifestyle #oceanart #oceaninspired #sunsetinspired

Creating feature walls + styling this house was a breeze for me as it’s in my personal style - coastal, light, bright, airy, textured, warm and inviting! This showhome has another JMS wall and multiple art reproductions throughout. It’s open to the public in Saskatoon if you’re in the area and wish to see it in person or stalk the virtual tour of it online! I’ve worked with clients to execute so many different looks from streamline contemporary, traditional, modern, mid centu...ry modern, industrial, shabby chic, farmhouse, transitional, boho, eclectic, glam and so many styles between. What’s your preferred style?

Hey I’m Justine Marie, aka JMS for those who are new! Apparently I need to post my face every now and then as it helps with the algorithm.. That said, maybe it’s just me but I’m always curious when I follow a new page to see whose behind a brand and making the magic happen, so here I am! Besides I don’t do my hair + makeup that often so when I do, it gets documented.... Luckily I’ve been bless with pretty decent skin, however I’m not going to lie.. I neglected a daily skincare routine for longer than I’d like to admit. I’ve been using an amazing new skincare line for the last few months and I have to say I am totally in love! My skin feels soft and looks the best it ever has. If anyone is in need of a new lineup or just a couple products, I’m sure my friend @lindleyhaduik would do a skincare consult and hook you up with whatever your needs may be.

I call this one ‘Seascape’ The silver lining of 2020 is that it forced me to take a break from teaching workshops and overworking myself at markets. I spent time isolating, getting my hands full of paint and creating new work! I decided to switched things up, 180 degrees for that matter and do some horizontal walls, like this one!... How amazing would a dreamy seascape wall be in a master bedroom, nursery or office?! #getinspired #seascapeart #artmural

Happy Monday! Let’s all open the doors to the first week of the year, a new chapter, a fresh start and new beginnings. Buh-byeee 2020 + hello 20-21! I remember sitting down this time last year and making goals like ‘double my product sales, spend a couple months in California, land contract with X clients etc.’ and to be 100% with you, a lot of it didn’t happen, not even close. Many of my goals and dreams for 2020 went into pause mode as soon as things were shut down in March. On the flip side, there was such a silver lining. I was forced to pivot and be resilient under pressure. I also fi...nally allowed myself time to rest and focus on self care. A lot happened but a few highlights including doing my first podcast interview with @celebrating.simple.life , I got to meet and collaborate with @justpaintitbydani , shot guns and went to my first @arizonacoyotes NHL game, travelled with @candyfiessel to Palm Springs and taught an art workshop to 40+ incredible entrepreneurs at @altsummit , made more friendships and connections, met @savvyrobinson in Kelowna as we explored the Okanagan together. Even though I almost died rock climbing the wine, food and memories we made, like convincing ourselves to jump in a lake to cool off after hiking right before our dinner reservation made up for it . That evening in August I taught her how to go from a 2 to a 7 in a parking lot, in 8 minutes flat. I went paddle boarding and laughed until I cried at the lake with @michellestrawford , @barkdesignchels and @kareykapell . I also got to reunite with @negarbar23 and @gemstone.cali.life , canoed Lake Louise and zen’d it up at @knordicspa with @hairbyamandarae . I watched more sunsets and spent more time creating custom pieces, which is how JMS all started. I’ve accepted the challenges and embraced the curveball 2020 through into my plans and I’ll hit play when it realigns. Until then I’m manifesting a happy, healthy and abundant new year thats filled with hope, mesmerizing sunsets, new memories to be made and fun adventures to be had! I truly can’t wait to see what’s up your sleeve and where I’ll be at the end of 2021. Bring it! Wishing you all a wonderful and magical year!

This wall was based on a 6x6 mini canvas I created, the clients just wanted a much larger version of it so I made it happen and.. here it is! In the spirit of New Year’s Eve there’s a touch of glitz, shimmer and bling, inspired by their sparkly chandelier. Cheers to helping me crush my goal of completing 50 walls by the end of 2020, I couldn’t have done it without you!... I’d love to know of some of your highlights or the wonderful things that happened to you this year, share some positivity below!

I’m reflecting back on some of my favourite pieces and walls I got to create in 2020.. I refer to a handful of incredible people as my dream clients but every once in a while an angel client comes along and I had the privilege of added to their JMS gallery with this custom wall mural that was installed this year! My hands were covered in metallic foil, aka I was totally in my element . (See next image).... I based it on some other originals they own (see last image). I wanted to make it fairly neutral which allows them to incorporate other splashes of colours yet it still has hints of blues, teals, pinks, browns and greys as a backdrop to the space. DM if you’d like to receive a quote on a JMS wallpaper, complete with gold/ silver foil detail! @ Regina, Saskatchewan

It happens less often, however I get the occasional request to create art that’s not my typical style or within my go to colour palettes. Sometimes I say no, if it doesn’t feel in alignment, however sometimes I say YES especially when I need to step outside my comfort zone. I think it’s important to challenge yourself and create outside your realm every now and then. Take on a new project or a commission like the watercolour elephant, pet portraits or owl you may have catch g...limpses of me working on earlier in the year. When @socialbirdco asked me to create some boho inspired pieces for her office that weren’t in my typical style I was actually in a bit of a lull and it was the perfect timing for me to create something different, so I took it on! It was fun to play with different shapes and mark making. I don’t believe I’ll ever master my skill as I’m constantly learning, evolving, developing new techniques and growing each and every time I start a new piece. I’m going to be experimenting with a new medium soon I haven’t worked with in years.. any guesses on what it is?!
