This penalty is certainly disproportionate. Interestingly enough, the Supreme Court of Canada has agreed with most of Her Worship’s criticism of the Bail system in recent Judgements.

Disgraceful conduct.

We mourn the loss and treasure the memory of Kees Wouter Kort. January 29, 1948 - August 17, 2020. He was a kind and loving Husband, a proud and beloved Father and Grandfather. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of hard work, determination, and no quit attitude combined with love and compassion. Mr. Kort practiced Law for 45 years and was well respected in the legal community. During his last few years he fulfilled his passion for practicing Criminal law with his Son Pieter at our Firm. We are grateful for all of his assistance. We are all diminished by his passing. May he Rest In Peace.

I wonder if these suits come in black pinstripe?

Are we letting the public and staff into our courthouses too soon? The precautions do not seem to be effective. I would never encourage any of my Clients to attend at the Courthouse at this time. Health must be the number one priority, not economics.
