Any thoughts on rebranding from Kamloops Team Handball Club to Kamloops Handball Club or simply Kamloops HC? I think it's more professional sounding. Opinions?

Kamloops Team Handball 09.11.2020

Dear handballers! Kamloops Handball Club is registered in the BC Handball cup which will take place on Saturday, November 15 and Sunday November 16 at the Richmond Oval (suburb of Vancouver). There will be 5 men's teams and 2 women's teams. I have included David Lee's (Executive Director of BC Handball) email describing the tournament. We have one men's team registered. Women players can play with the Vancouver women's team (and perhaps even our men's team, will find out ...later). Practices: We have booked the north court of the TCC for Tuesday, November 4 from 700pm to 830pm and same time and same place on Thursday, November 13. Even if you do not plan to come to the tournament, you are very welcome to come to either or both practices. Who Plays? Players that commit the time and money to play on BOTH Saturday and Sunday will be prioritised both in starting line-up and playing time. If we have 12 players committed for both Saturday and Sunday, there will be no openings for players committing to just Saturday or Sunday. Cost: The two practices (i.e. gym rental and insurance for both practices) will be covered by the club (i.e. no cost). There will also be no cost to play in the tournament. Transportation, meals, and accommodation costs, however, must be covered by players themselves. Accommodation: Dave Lee has blocked until October 15 a number of rooms at the Richmond Hilton. Cost is approximately $115 per night (plus taxes). This special deal is only good until October 15 so book early if you want this hotel. Otherwise you are responsible for finding and paying for your own accommodation. Transportation: Flo Simon and I will be taking our cars and have room for some passengers. $25 per person for gas and parking for passengers (round trip). Since there will be a number of games, we will probably like to have one more car going down (cars must have snow tires on the Coquahalla). We have asked David to allow Kamloops to play as late as possible for our first match on Saturday so we dont have to leave super early on Saturday morning. The schedule will be provided later. Meals: There is a banquet Saturday night (cost will be about $20). This and all other meals are the players' own responsibility. Please let me know ASAP if you will play in the tournament. (I am required to send in a roster in advance.)If you need more information, email me or call me at home. Please pass this email on to anyone who is not on the list and who might be interested. I look forward to hearing from you (and playing with you in the tournament!) Best,Peter CATCH THE SPIRIT! PLAY HANDBALL!

1. Just a reminder about our Team Handball Open house this Thursday, May 9, from 830pm-930 pm on the north court of the TCC for all current and former players plus any new players who want to give team handball a try. It is free, and everyone and anyone is welcome. As this is our last practice of the season, we will go out afterwards for anyone interested for a drink. Hope to see you this Thursday. Any questions, give me a call. 2. Update on daughter, Emily, on the Canadian U 21 National team in Guatemala in the Continental Cup. Canada won GOLD on Saturday beating Venezuela in the final 21-19. Canada automatically qualifies for the world U 21 championship later this year. Congratulations Emily! 3. Catch the spirit! Play handball!

Update: Emily in Guatemala. Canada just played Nicaragua and won 33-13. Emily scored 4 goals and "is sore as hell". They play Venezuela in the final on Saturday. Winner takes gold! They will visit Antigua tomorrow (Friday). Go TEAM CANADA!!
