The 2020 Candidates and Kamloops Ambassador Rory Jakubec had a lovely afternoon getting to hear from Aleece Laird, founder and owner of Amplify Consulting. They really enjoyed doing a #bebraveengage challenge before the class and getting to discuss the impact it had on them!

Kamloops Ambassadors Rory and Katrina had a spectacular evening tonight at the BC Zoom Social hosted by the White Rock Youth Ambassador Program! They enjoyed getting to know other ambassadors from around British Columbia! Thank you so much to the WRYA for inviting us!!!

During this past year, our Ambassador Team - Miss Kamloops, Ireland, Kamloops Princesses Rory and Katrina - have continued to make such an impact on our community and youth in #Kamloops. They have found ways to stay engaged, volunteer and make a difference. The pandemic has proven difficult, especially for youth - school is different, extra curricular activities have been halted, social interaction diminished. And yet, they move forward asking how and who they can help. \\\"How can we make a difference?" \\\"What can we do to support our peers?" It has been a truly remarkable sight watching them motor through their incredibly special Ambassador year that they worked so hard for. The events they expected to attend, haven't happened. The interaction with their community has shifted. But they are still determined to make their mark. It would have been easy to take a back seat, admit that this is bigger than them and stop. Nope...they make our committee exhausted with their energy and passion! I truly feel these young women need to be AMPLIFIED! We were inspired by this and hope you are too. It’s easy when times are tough to hunker down, weather the storm, and wait for calmer seas. But these dynamic women have rallied as a team and shown tremendous grit which we think is amplifiable.
