In this article, Otto Scharmer explains how only protecting our narrow self-interests, with a hoarding mindset, is no longer viable. If you keep all the economic resources for yourself, then you will likely be hit by waves of mass migration from countries suffering the unbearable consequences of structural violence and climate change. If you think you can solve climate change by just focusing on technologies funded, developed, and used by the North, then you have never seen ...a climate simulation model for the remainder of this century, which would quickly convince you otherwise. The image of the Ever Given needing to unload its cargo in order to get unstuck represents in a microcosm the collective impediment that rich countries and Western civilization embody today: holding on to stuff and refusing to share with those who are on the other side of the social divide. https://medium.com//facing-the-eye-of-the-needle-38e5fd786

Author & blogger Dick Rauscher outlines the dire prognosis for humanity, and a solution to avoid social, civil, and economic collapse. "...the illusion of separateness shuts down our ability to embrace empathy and compassion for other. When we embrace the connectedness of all of reality, it changes the way we experience the world. It changes us! We become more compassionate. More empathic. And like the wisdom embraced in indigenous cultures, we begin to see the sacredness ...of spirit embedded in all of reality. We begin to embrace systemic thinking and the interconnectedness and interdependence of our self with all other aspects of reality. The only question now is, will we embrace systemic, interdependent thinking in time to save our planet? Or will we continue to toward social, civil, and economic collapse and likely extinction as the most invasive species that has ever existed on our limited planet?" https://stonyhill.com/collective-consciousness-of-humanity/

Have we allowed the logic of the market to occupy our minds? https://www.scienceandnonduality.com//neoliberal-psychology "It appears that our lives have become almost permanently projected into a place lying somewhere between the present and the future. Our hopes, dreams, and quests for a meaningful existence are cast into a space in time that never actually arrives. It’s as if we’ve fabricated a kind-of secular afterlifean imaginary destination that justifies the struggle...s of the presentalthough, unlike religious afterlives, this is one that we have to believe we’ll reach before our deaths. These psychological impacts also seem deeply problematic in themselves. By cultivating the antithesis of a mindful, grounded way of living, it’s no wonder that we now hear talk of epidemics of depression, demoralisation, narcissism and other psychological disorders. Today, there does at least appear to be a growing recognition of the need to counter these trends, as evidenced by the surge of interest in mindfulness and meditation, which are becoming increasingly demystified by a growing body of scientific research. Predictably, the response of capitalism has been to appropriate these practices and direct them towards productivity and profits, nicely captured by Google’s ‘head of mindfulness training’ in a brand new neoliberal aphorism: mindfulness opens the doorway to loving kindness, which is at the heart of business success.

I am very passionate in helping those with mental models of scarcity or dissociation around money to break this to talk to people with resources about their visions and missions. Enjoy the read.

This article from my teachers Doug Duncan and Catherine Pawasarat was published a couple of years ago, yet remains relevant, especially in these times, in describing how to be masters of our own fate. The seed we are talking about is basically karma. Where your attention goes, what your mind is on about, what your aspiration is will determine what kind of flower (karma) you have. https://www.planetdharma.com/seed-stalk-and-flower-be-mast/

How do we become more adaptable in a world where 40% of careers are expected to become obsolete i 10 years. Here is an organization that is attempting to help us adapt to change. "One thing I’ve noticed is in Western thinking we often tend to disregard context. Western civilisation as a whole is very individual-focused. Our entire psyche is formed around the concept of lone geniuses or heroes on missions to save the world. We have terms such as bread-winner (from the Anglo Sa...xon term for Lord, hlaford, which means ‘giver of bread’, as it was the Lord who distributed food to their community), which again prioritises the role of the individual. However, in our exponential world, we are increasingly seeing the need for collaboration, teamwork, and communal efforts to solve problems." https://www.aqai.io//the-importance-of-context-why-we-need

Kate Levinson, in her blog for Psychology Today, talks about money as emotional currency. With money often being externalized into something concrete and knowable, many people, esecially women, tend to feel marginalized... "Money is legal tender and it’s also emotional currency. By devaluing and pushing away our emotional responses to money, we, especially as women, lose access to working with our actual experience of money and bringing our whole selves to our money lives. An...d since most of us don’t even talk with our best friends about the money dilemmas we are facing, we’ve lost additional grounding as talking with others is one of the primary ways women learn. We locate ourselves as we talk to an attentive listener about situations and people in our lives. And we learn from their sharing of their experiences and insights. We are marginalized financially by making less than men, which translates into having way less over our lifetimes. And the more that men treat us as if we don't understand financial matters whether by financial advisors, at home, at work, or in the media the more we come to doubt ourselves." https://www.psychologytoday.com//i-never-feel-i-quite-do-j See more

Are you a spiritual practitioner who has unexamined aspects in your relationship with money? Perhaps you focus on doing good in the world at the expense of taking care of their material needs, or you experience reoccurring fears and anxieties around money, or perhaps you’ve outsourced the financial management to a partner, book keeper in your organization, or an accountant. The outsourcing can take shape in many forms. Get really clear about the narratives around money that you learned from childhood and your culture, be it wholesome or unwholesome, and use your meditation practice to gain access to the unconscious views you don’t know you are carrying around in relation to resources.

https://www.planetdharma.com/unconscious-forces-in-the-psy/ Here is another article worth reading from my teachers Doug Duncan and Catherine Pawasarat on the unconscious forces involving money, sex, and power: "When we get more conscious around our money issues we empower ourselves to more consciously affect and influence our lives and society, and be less prone to the ongoing dystopian malaise affecting the world today. It would also empower us to elect representatives that support a healthy relationship to money rather than people whose unhealthy relationship to money makes them rich but the rest of their lives a mess. If you think money by itself means success, just remember there are plenty of very wealthy people whose children want nothing to do with them."
