Are you stuck at home with nothing to do? Take 2 mins and read my post. You will most likely learn something new! Have you ever fallen on your butt (and I do mean literally...)? A fall like this one can not only affect the bones of your pelvis like your sacrum and your coccyx, but it can also cause many ligaments and tissues throughout your body to tighten in response to this traumatic event. Yes, the ligaments in your pelvis will most likely stiffen, but have you ever thoug...ht about how it could affect your organs? Our thorax and abdominal cavities are filled with our organs who are supported by ligaments and fascia. When you fall on your butt, your organs and their tissues will also have suffered an impact, which consequently can lead to tissue restrictions which can later on affect the mobility and function of your organs. Why does this matter? Well, it means that falling on your butt may not only require physiotherapy of your pelvis and lower back, but it may require therapy of your viscera (a.k.a. organs). With the wonderful work of Visceral Manipulation, tissue restrictions of the organs may be released to prevent future health issues (ie. acid reflux, chronic neck tension, digestive issues, bladder issues, and much more!). As I've said many times before, our whole body is connected through fascia/tissues. You may have suffered trauma at one place in your body, but your whole body may be affected. This scenario may easily be applied to any trauma such as through car accidents or high impact sports. All of this to say, we all have experienced some type of bodily trauma in our lives, proving that everyone can benefit from Visceral Manipulation

The health of my clients and my community is of utmost importance to me and with the current situation developing very quickly, I have made the decision to close my home clinic this week. I will re-assess the situation for the following week by the end of this week. With this being said, the best thing you can do at the moment to support me is to refer your family or friends for physiotherapy for April . On a side note, if you can work from home, please do. And if you can't work from home and are a non-essential service, I strongly recommend you follow me and many others in self-isolating yourself to help protect the most vulnerable in our community. No one wants our medical healthcare providers to have to make decisions on who gets a ventilator and who doesn't. We're all in this together!
