Hi Everyone, Travel by Bus in Ontario? Can you still travel and cross a provincial boundary on an intercity bus? The short answer is yes. Kasper Transportation offers service between Thunder Bay, Kenora, Sioux Lookout, Dryden, and Winnipeg.... In following the Provincial Stay-At-Home order, passengers should only travel for essential reasons. COVID-19 health and safety measures remain in effect. Passengers are required to wear a mask. Be prepared for health screening prior to boarding. Passengers should travel only if it is absolutely necessary for the following reasons listed below: - your principal residence is in Ontario - you work in Ontario - you’re transporting goods into Ontario as part of a business - you’re exercising an Aboriginal or treaty right - you require health care or social services - you’re traveling through Ontario to another destination - you’re picking up a patient who will receive care in Manitoba or Quebec - you’re in the care of the Children’s Aid Society - you’re entering the province to exercise custody rights - you’re complying with a court decision - you’re responding to a critical incident, which includes preventing injury or illness, preventing property damage or performing an otherwise necessary action - you have a humanitarian or compassionate reason, which includes providing care, attending a person who is dying or a funeral

Hey all! We have always supported those with efforts to highlight and showcase the beautiful region of Northwestern Ontario, which is why we are now working with local creators to do just that. This video features Thunder Bay filmmakers Torin Gunnell and Chad Kirvan as they travel to Silver Falls Provincial Park to document their journey and the beauty they find. If anyone is looking for last-minute Christmas gifts, well we would like to recommend https://artisanto.ca/ Artisanto was created by our CEO Kasper Wabinski, to help local Artisans sell their goods and products. Because of COVID19 craft fairs and shows are canceled. So Kasper teamed up with Tim Ross, owner of Ross Custom Knives as the first vendor on the site. Tim makes high custom knives, and anyone who knows him will understand that his 50 years of knife making experience s...hows. If any other vendors are looking to sell, Artisanto is accepting new Artisans to join the platform. #SupportSmallBusiness #artisan #craftsman

We are unfortunate to see our Owen Sound route suspended. We are disappointed we were placed in the position to have to do so. COVID-19 and local politics make it difficult to maintain the route at this time. The government must be open for business. We want to say thank you to all of our local customers for supporting us every day with their travels. We apologize we couldn't give more notice. The decision was out of our control. Our customers in Owen Sound and Guelph do not... have the confidence back yet to travel to the GTA, and with raising COVID-19 numbers in the Greater Toronto Area, we understand your concerns. If the numbers keep going up in the GTA, it will have a even larger negative impact on the transportation industry. We thank our amazing staff in Owen Sound for their hard work and dedication to building this route. We look forward to the brighter future in the post COVID-19 times Let's stay safe and get through these difficult economic times that have affected so many of us. Many of us have to make some difficult financial choices, but please support local businesses so we can see you on the other side. We are hoping that once COVID-19 is over we can look at restarting the route. Picture of our Owen Sound fleet at the local Owen Sound Tim Hortons before departure for Thunder Bay.

Kasper Transportation unfortunately is suspending the Guelph to Owen Sound route effective end of Tuesday, September 15th. We are working as hard, and as smart as we know how. However, COVID-19 is putting serious pressure on travel. Those pressures have us looking seriously at our routes and how to make sure we are offering our customers the best service possible.... We were building traffic on the route, and we thought we could make it self sustainable. But then the Ontario Government started running their tax-payer funded buses on the route, and right now that makes it impossible to compete. We have stopped taking reservations on the Owen Sound Route and any bookings that we cannot honor will be refunded to the customer. Our goal is to make sure our company operates the best service possible for our customers, and to make sure we are protecting the future of the company and of our team. Sadly, this decision will see people being laid off. And we are deeply sorry for those that depended on the service. To our customers, all we can say is we are working hard for you and hope this is just a temporary setback.

Kasper Transportation unfortunately is suspending the Fort Frances route effective Monday, September 14th. We are working as hard, and as smart as we know how. However, COVID-19 is putting serious pressure on travel. Those pressures have us looking seriously at our routes and how to make sure we are offering our customers the best service possible.... We were building traffic on the route, and we thought we could make it profitable. But then the Ontario Government started running their tax-payer funded buses on the route, and right now that makes it impossible to compete. We have stopping taking reservations on the Fort Frances route past Sunday and any bookings that we cannot honour will be refunded to the customer. Our goal is to make sure our company operates the best service possible for our customers, and to make sure we are protecting the future of the company and of our team. Sadly, this decision will see people being laid off. "I put the blame on Minister Greg Rickford. The Minister ran under the Progressive Conservative promise of supporting business, but instead seems focused on getting ONTC into Kenora. I wonder what message that is sending to business across our region." says Kasper Wabinski. To our customers, all I can say is we are working hard for you and hope this is just a temporary setback.
