Looking for a nutritious festive snack? How about these delicious pomegranate, chia seed pudding parfaits?? Prep chia pudding: Whisk together 1.5 cups milk, 1/2 cup chia seeds, 1-2 tbsp. maple syrup, and 1 tsp. vanilla. Cover and refrigerate overnight or several hours - until thick and creamy (pudding texture).... By making this oatmeal at the beginning of the week, I had breakfasts prepped for busy mornings later in the week. I enjoyed my baked oatmeal with some Skyr yogurt for added protein. This past weekend my husband and I went apple picking I love visiting fruit farms and being able to pick my own delicious fresh fruit. A few years ago I learned that while picking apples you want to turn the eye to the sky (bottom of apple) and gently twist the apple off the tree as a way of protecting the tree.... How do you incorporate fresh Ontario peaches into your meals and snacks? Baked peaches with oatmeal crumble is an easy and quick way to create a satisfying snack or dessert. Simply cut a peach in half, remove the pit, top with your favourite crumble (I used oats, cinnamon, brown sugar & butter), and bake at 350F for about 12 minutes. I was gifted these beautiful (and delicious ) garden fresh tomatoes by Diana Sutherland, Registered Dietitian After eating some of them raw, I roasted the rest to use on margherita pizza. Did you know that when you cook tomatoes the bioavailability of lycopene increases? Lycopene is a carotenoid which is a type of antioxidant. Lycopene is fat soluble, meaning it is best absorbed by the body when eaten with some fat (Ex. when cooked/drizzled with olive oil).
