Earlier this afternoon we picked up our second order for #DonateADish, this time from Bar Vita. 40 frozen meals that will now go to those in need in our commun...ity through Kawartha Food Share. We started the day with a visit to our friends at Jeff Purvey's Fish 'n Chips who prepared 80 meals for us to take over to the residents at Brock Mission and Cameron House to enjoy for lunch! SHIVER ME TIMBERS, IT’S FOOD DRIVE DAY PETERBOROUGH Get your ‘booty’ out on your front porch if you’re able, we’re unleashing the pirates to begin collection at 9am!!... If you don’t have a porch, or we happen to miss your bag, we are so sorry! We would love if you could drop it off in one of our grocery store collection bins during your next shopping trip, or swing by our warehouse at 665 Neal drive and place it in the blue barrels outside the main entrance. Thanks in advance for your support, mateys!!!

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated food and funds over the holidays! We are once again blown away with the support and generosity our community has shown. Just a reminder we are technically closed this week, but there are still ways to give! 1- Food can be dropped off in our collections bins outside of the warehouse. These are emptied daily as we still have staff working periodically in the warehouse all week. ... 2- Food donations can also be left in our collection bins at all local grocery stores! Our warehouse is open until noon today and then closed to the public until Monday January 4th. We have our blue collection bins outside our warehouse where food donations can be dropped off throughout the holidays! We will still be busy working behind the scenes, so if you do stop down during the day, there’s a good chance someone will be around to help unload any donations. Our grocery store collection bins will also be picked up multiple times throughout the next week. ... Our small but mighty team would like to thank everyone so much for all of the love and support we’ve received not just leading up to the holidays, but all year long. We are truly blessed to be apart of such a caring, generous community and wish everyone a healthy and happy holiday season.

Thank you so much to the infamous card bandits, Pete Dalliday and Card The Yard Peterborough for dropping by the warehouse today with $8500 in donations they collected from their carding shenanigans!! Every morning our volunteers and staff looked forward to seeing who the next Card the Yard victim was! Thank you for making us laugh, and putting smiles on so many faces during a challenging holiday season!!

It’s an unusual Thanksgiving for us this year. In an effort to keep our volunteers and community members safe, our usual annual Thanksgiving food drives could not go on as planned. Typically during Thanksgiving weekend, we collect over 15,000lbs. of food donations from our wonderful, generous community. While you may not see us outside of our local grocery stores this year, we still do have our donation bins inside every single store in Peterborough and would love if you c...ould donate an item or two for our hungry neighbours while doing your shopping this weekend. Many stores have created pre packaged food bags for us loaded with our most needed items and we have already collected over 2000 lbs of donations this week! Thank you so much to our amazing grocery store owners, managers and staff for your on going support!! From our KFS family to yours, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving and we can’t wait to see you all at our next food drive, whenever that may be! P.s- We do have another porch drive in the works! In addition to 8 entire skids of prepackaged food bags, 24 turkeys were also donated for us to distribute to families for thanksgiving!
