While the County Forest remains open at this time, we are reminding all visitors to adhere to the requirements of the latest provincial declaration of emergency.... The health, safety and well-being of forest users, volunteers and the entire community remains our highest priority. Please maintain 2 meters physical distance, use the trails only with members of your own household (or one other household, if you live alone), and avoid travelling outside of your region. Let’s keep the infection rate in Northumberland County low and get through this together. See more

in #KawarthaLakes Foxes are not dangerous to humans, except when they are rabid (which is very rare) or when they are captured and handled. Even then, a fox'...s natural tendency is to flee rather than fight. Foxes will eat various fruits, but they usually do not bother garden vegetables. Foxes pose very little risk for cats and dogs. If you are lucky enough to see a fox, please keep your distance and admire from afar. You should not approach, handle or disturb wildlife. @ Kawartha Lakes (Ontario)

- by @lucyemblack on Instagram - Pontypool Grain Elevator The Pontypool Grain Elevator is a landmark as you come into Pontypool. Constructed in the early t...wentieth century, it is one of only two surviving grain elevators in Ontario from this time. It harks back to the time when the Canadian Pacific Railway transported grain from Manvers Township on the railway line that ran through Pontypool. In Kawartha Lakes, "farm-to-table" is not just a nice idea, but a way of life. We believe it's important to know where your food comes from, and to experience t...he farm-to-table culture. The farm experiences, farm stands and farmers' markets in Kawartha Lakes are a thriving example of the movement to support local foods and products.
