32 weeks down, 8 weeks to go. The third trimester has been very kind to me so far. Oddly enough, I've been feeling better these days than I have all pregnancy. For the first time since starting kindergarten, I am not going back to school . I've gone "back-to-school" every September whether as a student or a teacher , but this year is different. This September, I am learning all about the joys and challenges of being a mom . My teacher, Quinn, is teaching me new things everyday. He's teaching me to be patient and open to new experiences. I'm learning to trust my instincts and let go of what I think I "should" do. And h...e's teaching me what it means to love someone in a way I never knew was possible. Six weeks ago, he was a stranger to me. Someone I knew only by kicks, indigestion and back pain. Now, we spend 24 hours a day together, getting to know each other little by little. It isn't always perfect, but despite the disrupted sleep, cold cups of coffee and non-existent alone time, I wouldn't change a thing . See more

Hey third trimester! There are 10 weeks left until my due date. 10 weeks left to get the nursery ready, stock up on supplies and do all the things you're supposed to do before baby arrives. But with 10 weeks left, I can't help but think about the past 30 weeks and how it seemed like this point would take forever to arrive. Between the morning sickness, the dizzy spells and an almost constant state of sciatic nerve pain, I've spent most of these past 30 weeks feeling so unli...ke myself. My body has not been my own for more than 7 months. I've shared it with a tiny human who has sucked out my energy, pushed on my spine and caused my skin to breakout like a prepubescent teenager. Pregnancy has been no walk in the park and yet, despite all of that, there is a part of me that is wishing for time to slow down - not so I have more time to prepare, but more time to savour everything that's happening during this time.
